PENCIL FACE (2008).
throwback
So TessaViolet (meekakitty) uses this modified reaction gif of a creepy-ass pencil thing, and recently answered an ask about the source. In her words, "It's from this terrifying short [hyperlink]." Yes. This is an incredibly terrifying short.
Day 56.

Pencilface by SCADshorts, length: 3m 29s http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4MjTb5A68VA
This was a re-watch for me, and if you haven't seen it, you should. Short but interesting and really creepy. A girl finds a giant pencil with a disturbing face that can make drawings come to life.
The Gloaming by Andrew Hu, length: 2m 56s http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmHIZMezHOc
Also pretty short, but I love the animation in this one. Dark with an interesting twist at the end. From the video description: "The Gloaming takes office space to an eerie dimension following the misfortune of a worker ensnared by his cubicle and haunted by sinister visitors during the nightshift."
Doll Face by Andrew Hu, length: 4m 13s http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zl6hNj1uOkY
Creepy, yet sends a powerful and sad message. From the video description: "A machine with a doll face mimics images on television screen in search of a satisfactory visage."
Chiruri [チルリ] by Kawasaki, length: 8m 28s http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VK2il0LnOY
Hard to explain the story of this one but... a boy in search of water stumbles across a broken down city. A girl in the city searches for someone to give her apples to. Even though I was confused a bit at the end, I found it kind of touching and sad. The animation in this is really great.
