One day I will stop reading queer sci-fi/fantasy that has both social commentary, insane worldbuilding, and a profound exploration of the fundamentals of existence since these books always make me very sad, HOWEVER, today is certainly not that day.

Hope you return to writing some time, absolutely love your stories. I think about The Gloaming often.
Thank you Anon! That’s so lovely to hear.
I’ve been thinking a lot about writing too lately and desperately want to get back into posting regularly.
I know the Outlander fandom has changed a lot since I first started writing in 2018, but I have so many Jamie & Claire stories I still want to tell!
Would you anon - or anyone - like a little excerpt from the next chapter of The Gloaming?
Take care xx
the gloaming.
Introducing The Gloaming, a Eudaemon!Matt Murdock x Mortal!Fem!Reader Fantasy AU.
gloaming (noun): twilight; dusk
Eldest daughters are rarely seen in the world. When they turn twenty one, they are taken to a different place by their Guardians, ancient spirits and daemons who have watched over them since their birth, to study a life of magic.
On the morning of your twenty first birthday, you wake up in an unfamiliar place. Hovering over you is a monstrous, devilish creature. He cannot see you, but he can smell and hear and feel everything else. His name is Matthew, and He is your Guardian, a Eudaemon, a spirit that hungers for justice and goodness.
Quite a shock, to have a benevolent Guardian with such a monstrous appearance. And yet, your heart betrays your eyes.
Prologue
Chapter I
“The French called this time of day 'l'heure bleue.' To the English it was 'the gloaming.' The very word 'gloaming' reverberates, echoes - the gloaming, the glimmer, the glitter, the glisten, the glamour - carrying in its consonants the images of houses shuttering, gardens darkening, grass-lined rivers slipping through the shadows. During the blue nights you think the end of the day will never come. As the blue nights draw to a close (and they will, and they do) you experience an actual chill, an apprehension of illness, at the moment you first notice; the blue light is going, the days are already shortening, the summer is gone... Blue nights are the opposite of the dying of the brightness, but they are also its warning.” ― Joan Didion
shoutout to big finish for using the mara correctly (exposing "forbidden" desires and feelings), really drives home the tyssa messaging in kinda and snakedance and this story isn't even with them this is an eight/charley audio!!!
