When a poisonous spider bites you, you put ice on the wound to concentrate it and to keep the poison from spreading. Stop it at the source, you know.

But, the thing is, when a snake bites you, you don’t do that at all. Because a snake’s venom is so potent that to allow it to concentrate in a small sector of your body is to destroy that muscle tissue beyond all repair. You let it diffuse, so it only slowly kills you instead of sending you straight into shock. It’s a double-edged sword. Without the anti-venom, you’re as good as dead in 30 minutes.

So when some asshole poisons your life, you have to ask yourself if it’s just a spider and something you have the power to control… or if it’s a snake and everything has to get unbearably worse before it can get any better.
