reminder that merlin's entire color scheme was blue except for his neckerchief

and even THAT was blue at the beginning

the neckerchief only became red once he entered arthur's employment, meaning one of the most consistent visual indicators of merlin's connection to arthur and camelot was literally something he started wearing because of his place in the pendragon household

and the one time he wasn't wearing pendragon red after that?

when he and arthur had an argument.

bbc merlin costuming really looked at these two and said "subtlety is for cowards"

today my friends practically forced me to buy this and it's honestly made me so happy. here's to spending winter trying to imitate my favorite sorcerer of all time, and allowing myself to believe that someday, somewhere, in some alternate reality, im a part of their adventures as well.
