Broke: Morgana only turned evil because Merlin and Gaius didn't support her! If they had been honest with her and told her about the magic, she wouldn't have gone darkside

Woke: everyone has a darkness within them, and to strip a character of their flaws is a disservice. To deny Morgana's accountability in her own negative arc is to deprive her of agency, and denying her flaws causes her characterization to become shallow. Early-seasons Morgana was kind and compassionate, yes, but she also was prone to selfishness/ego, and that was one of her biggest flaws. Morgause was able to cultivate and encourage the harsher parts of her personality, until her hubris evolved into a lust for power. Even if Merlin had been honest with her, even if she hadn't been abducted by Morgause, she would still have to overcome those personal flaws. While Merlin and Gaius and Morgause - and Arthur, let's be real - definitely had a role to play in Morgana's downward spiral, to pin primary blame on them not only deprives Morgana of agency over her narrative but also is a disservice to her character. If you take away her complexity, she ceases to be a character, and instead becomes just a 2-dimensional piece of cardboard for you to woobify
