Pendulum Summoning is my favorite summoning method in Yugioh, and it keeps getting the short stick from Konami. It sucks.
Like, there’s a lot of fun Pendulum/Pendulum-adjacent archetypes: Abyss Actors, Yosenju, Solfacord, Odd Eyes, Mejespecter. Most of which were good at some point, and would be fun to play in Duel Links.
Thinking About Getting Back Into Yugioh After Years of Not Playing It
Pendulum summoning: failed Goggles: on I am forcibly removed from the respect of duellists.
So, do you think I could incorporate pendulum summoning in a crystal beast deck??
Not sure how Link Summoning actually works yet but I’m actually really glad that they moved the pendulum zones down to to the magic and trap card zones. I’ve always thought that pendulum summoning was massively OP and somewhat unfair so having to sacrifice two magic/trap card zones in order to pendulum summon makes sense to me.
witness me pilot the greatest summoning mechanic in all of yugioh
YGO Challenge Day 14: Favorite Summoning Method
Lol I'm gonna get so much flack for this...but Pendulums FTW
They're broken as fuck, I acknowledge this, but I also think everyone's blowing out of proportion their brokenness. I'm pretty sure y'all were saying that about Synchros and XYZs when they were first introduced; the game will balance itself out. That's how it works.
But beyond just the game, I just love Pendulums for what they are, in both game play and in the anime. In the game, they're versatile. They are powerful spells or monsters, you can use them in multiple ways for victory instead of combining them with the same handful of combos. They bring out new challenges and new excitement in the game. They're amazing, their designs are usually pretty cool, and the Magicians are fucking fantastic, fite me.
In the anime, they're a symbol of hope and possibility. They're a powerful message that you can always swing the fight back into your favor no matter how bad it looks, that you can always swing your mood back around and make the day better again. That no matter how bad your day is, the pendulum has to swing forward eventually. I was actually starry-eyed when I watched the first episode of Arc V and watched that sparkling Pendulum summon come to life on screen. It was one of the most magical moments for me in the anime, and it's just...powerful. It's a brand new summoning type, even for the characters of the show. In the other anime series, new summon types were already the name of the game, and it was just a matter of explaining them to the audience.
But in the anime? It's new for everyone. And that was just...magical to me.
