What are your thoughts on the Genesect movie and the controversy surrounding the Mewtwo in it?

I remember that, I never cared too much. They could have used the older Mewtwo but chose not to for some reason. Given Yuyama's words I'm just going to assume they didn't want to fuck-up the old Mewtwo, so many things could go wrong. Characterization, back story misconceptions, Ash's initial meetings with it before, so I guess they just found it a little less sticky to go with a brand-new Mewtwo. Can't blame em' to be honest. Something else I was thinking of is since theire are two Mewtwo and the female one showed off its Y Mega Evolution the older and male could show off the ugly X evolution? Then again it's going to be a reach once again in the anime for Mewtwo to Mega Evolve since it's been established they both pretty much despise humans and it would take a fair amount of CD for a Mega Evolution to occur. They require a strong bond with humans and Mewtwo have both been treated as more independent beings with their own agency. Also Mewtwonite, an ancient stone to evolve an artificially created Pokemon shouldn't exist. Of course they could just be lazy and do what they did with the Mewtwo in the Genesect movie, evolving for no reason.

1. The first character I first fell in love with: honestly i can’t remember??  i first played OoT around age 6 so it’s all a little fuzzy.  i think i always liked Link and i remember liking Ruto a lot because the Zora were my favorite race at the time.2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Sheik big time I’m pretty sure my first play through I was just really mad at them because they kept running off hahhaha now I love all Sheik all the time3. The character everyone else loves that I don’t:  spoiler alert i love everyone???  i’m even OK with Fi even if her constant ‘master your wii remote is almost out of battery’ got old.  i guess uhhh well i kind of get a little tired of Ilia and it seems like a lot of the fandom likes her so4. The character I love that everyone else hates:  well i am tolerant of Navi which most aren’t……and i really like Kaebora Gaebora i mean i’m sorry but he’s a giant owl that helps you out and flies you places what is everyone’s damage.  OH ALSO i’m a total sucker for Linebeck but idk what the fandom’s stance is on him5. The character I used to love but don’t any longer:  again i love everyone?????  but i used to have a SUPER CRUSH on shad and that has faded over the years (he’s still a total cUT I E tho with his argyle socks good golly gosh)6. The character I would totally smooch:  this is so hard????  currently i have a big fat crush on TP-era Link because i’m replaying TP and ngl i would probs smooch Sheik7. The character I’d want to be like:  TP-era Zelda is often who i strive to be she is so strong and stands proud even at her lowest point what a role model8. The character I’d slap:  does the damn moon in MM count chRIST get that thing out of my life before i have nightmares9. A pairing that I love: I’M BIG ON Link/Sheik i’m also big on Kafei/Anju what babes10. A pairing that I despise:  idk if it’s still prominent but i feel like Link/Dark Link used to be a thing and that???  just kind of makes me uncomfortable so there you go

Do you mind the filler in the Pokemon anime, or do you think it makes the anime to much like Dora the Explorer?

If you want me to be honest, I think most fillers in Pokemon are formulaic trash. They have a high episode count, yet they waste a number of these episodes on mundane shit 24/7. Pokespe does it right, with its fillers it at least is creative and does something to advance the characters even if it isn't from the manga and its filler arcs. are fun to watch. Pokemon anime on the other hand would rather waste fillers on Ash glorification like in the Sylveon, Diggersby episodes or "filler character has a problem" things. That Sylveon episode could have easily been about....you know, the Fairy-type, its history and origin a bit. Froakie fighting Sylveon and losing and Serena challenging Premiere to a rematch if they want to force in Amourshipping somehow.

To quote a friend, One Piece, they at least keep us occupied with something engaging, like an action-packed plot arc that takes up a chunk of space that would otherwise have been filler about mundane life in the Pocket Monsters world. But here, we have endless upon endless episodes of filler that follow the same CotD Problem of the Day formula. That's the problem with the anime - they're too scared to take risks, they're just content on sticking with the same episodic formula using one main protagonist that barely changes anymore as long as it's a 30-minute advertisement of the video games and toys.
