I used to be a huge book nerd but I’ve never read Murakami?? So I thought I’d start with one of jjp’s recommendations. I just like to read books for their stories but Jinyoung makes me wanna take every book seriously and write notes and analyze everything. I even bought a bunch of post-it notes just for that but who knows if i’ll actually do it >.<

hi hello bothering you again but no joke i had a dream a couple weeks ago that i was in a plane crash and jinyoung was the flight attendant and idk what that means but i guarantee i'm connecting that to the trailer somehow

i'm not super far into the book myself but so far it's excellent. my depression makes it hard to concentrate so the fact that it keeps jumping from the main character to some freaky alien shit is throwing me through a loop but i'm keeping up somehow. there was a part in chapter 3? where this kid gets a hard-on on the train and i had this weird moment where all i could think was "im jaebum and i have both read about this 13-year old kid's erection... huh. okay."

I know the book is supposed to be surreal, I think the description said something about a talking cat? but holy shit I was not expecting that 😂 I can’t wait to read it now. 

Ok but nothing will weird me out as much as the fact that Jinyoung read, enjoyed, and recommended 50 Shades of Grey. I couldn’t even get through the Amazon preview pages, it was so terribly written 😖 but maybe the korean translation was better..?
