You ever wonder if Samus has ever been approached by folks to either have a book or movie written about her life? Like she spends some time in a Federation-controlled quadrant of space and suddenly some Hollywood sleazeball come out of the woodwork with a movie deal and it doesn't immediately register for her that the bullshit she gets up to would be like... summer blockbuster material? Also, that's her extremely traumatic life story?? Who wants to watch that???
(It turns out a lot of people would absolutely watch that and have Totally Normal™ Thoughts and Feelings about it.)
samus looking at her life from the outside: damn that was kinda fucked up
samus seeing she's getting played by anya taylor joy: man my life fucking rules
So what are your thoughts on the idea that BeelStarmon, at least as far as the current TCG is concerned, is lowkey portrayed as Beelzemon's extroverted, outgoing older sister? Because there's at least three instances of card artwork that kinda reinforces this vibe so far. Heck, in one of them, Impmon is standing while BeelStarmon is sitting/reclining, and Impmon's shadow is that of Beelzemon, so... 👀
gOD I've seen those cards, but it took me 500 years to actually realize a connection between all of them! A duo of a younger Impmon and a Beelstarmon who's like a big sister is so cute!
Honestly, I feel like I wouldn't be as disappointed with Koyanskaya's whole arc if it didn't peter out like a wet fart, or had maybe more than just a few scraps that hinted at her true nature instead of leading everyone on a wild Daji chase that went all of nowhere for 5+ Lostbelts.
Then to add insult to injury, the moment we actually learn all of this interesting stuff about her in spite of the bullshit fakeout, she gets shoved into a space egg and sent off to know fucking knows where. Like, Tunguska Sanctuary clearly felt like it should have been a whole-ass story chapter unto itself like Heian Kyo or Traum, but nah, they just wanted to rush to Nahui Mictlan and Koyan's big finale 100% suffered for that.
these are my exact fucking thoughts and it makes me VIBRATE WITH RAGE when people act like any of this shit was the intention from the beginning NONE OF IT WAS INTENTIONAL!!!!! NONE OF TUNGUSKA WAS PLANNED!!!!!!! THEY JUST WROTE UP A RANDOM DRAFT OF WHATEVER SO THEY COULD WRAP UP THAT LOOSE END BECAUSE THEY WERE BORED OF HER THEY DIDNT EVEN FUCKING BOTHER THEY FUCKING GOT BORED OF HER THEY THREW HER WHOLE STORYLINE AWAY SO THEY COULD PLAY WITH STUPID FUCKING ALIENS WENEEDTOBEATNASUWITHHAMMERS
I know the idea of certain Servants like Rasputin/Kirei Kotomine, Ashiya Douman, or Koyanskaya (Light or Dark) playing DnD might seem a little farfetched, but the idea of the former Disciples of the Foreign God coming together to play a Tabletop RPG as a "Team Building Exercise", mandatory or otherwise, has just the right amount of crack to it, and I'd love to hear what kind of thoughts or headcanons you might have on such a setup, since your F/GO Tabletop RPG Headcanon posts are downright delightful and I can never have enough of them.
Heck, if you want to widen the net to include "Most Servants or characters that served as a major antagonist to Fujimaru/Chaldea in general at some point" that'd also be fun to see, if only because it could justify tossing Kadoc into the mix to see what happens.
I'll say spoiler warning (up to 'Ordeal Call 2'), but I guess we're at FGO Tabletop RPG Headcanons... 3!
This was a way to break the ice as suggested by Ritsuka, and Douman IMMEDIATELY volunteered to be the GM (to everyone's suspicion, but nobody could think of a reason to say 'no'). So, they borrowed a Pathfinder sourcebook and started. The issue they all found was is that Douman is actually good at running a game. If he was bad, then they could all quit without a fuss, and yet they keep finding themselves coming back. It helps that magic is a really good tool for adding ambient sound and effects.
The other issue is that when you set a whole TTRPG game with a bunch of schemers, things get… complicated. Some might say toxic. This table thoroughly plays itself as 'Players versus DM', and yet it seems to work for all of them. Probably just them, though.
Kotomine ended up picking a 'Human Rogue' after about 2 seconds of actual deliberation (there wasn't much of a fuss, as much as a few eye-rolls). Most sessions he sits back, quietly waiting for a moment where he can either carefully dismantle whatever it is Douman is plotting, or find a way to effortlessly break through any encounters that are set up. He's 'efficient', to put it in a word, calmly waiting in the wings until he has a chance to swiftly and casually show up everyone.
Dark Koyan couldn't have cared less about it, but Light Koyan was oddly receptive. Everybody expected a Kitsune, and watched as she put down a character sheet for a Fleshwarp Gunslinger. She found a niche pretty quickly, keeping incredibly detailed notes and keeping track of party items, funds, and quest details. Though she did start making a habit of trying to find the quickest, cruelest, and most efficient ways of screwing over any NPC they met (unless they had an important quest or item, then she'd wait until after they were rewarded).
For Muramasa, he wasn't even sure why he was picked to join this thing, but joined at Ritsuka's insistence and settled on 'Dwarven Inventor'. He's not much for the roleplaying, but he likes the thrill of combat encounters and the idea behind the crafting aspects. There's a lot of time spent looking over the crafting item list and asking "Can I make that?", and even if it doesn't seem useful at the moment, there's always some time it ends up incredibly useful.
Moriarty picked an Elven Investigator and was probably the most receptive to the game itself. He was the most familiar with the rules, classes, feats, and is good enough at deduction and gaming out average monster HP and damage that Douman has started pushing in more and more homebrew to throw him off, which only gets picked apart more, and the cycle continues. The rest of the table are waiting for them to skip the in-game preamble and actually fight, but the fact that they haven't yet is a sign that maybe this is an effective team-building exercise.
Cagliostro picked a Fetchling Magus. He's also a problem player. In other words, he's a cheater, and everybody knows that he's a cheater, but nobody can figure out how or when he's actually pulling anything off. Still, he's… enthusiastic when it comes to the game, and has the charisma to carry along a lot of sessions. Though there are some moments where the banter between him and Douman goes on for too long and/or gets too intense and somebody else has to verbally cut in so that the rest of the group can get a breather.
Holmes wasn't super interested in the 'playing' part, and so decided to share a character with Ritsuka (was there for damage control and the most pleasant person to interact with aside from Muramasa), and they both ended up agreeing on a Leshy Cleric so that the party would have some support. Holmes often figures out major plot twists and details several sessions in advance, but keeps quiet as to not spoil the fun for the others. Ritsuka won't admit it, but they do feel a little bit of smug satisfaction whenever they, Holmes, or someone else at the table pulls one over on Limbo.
Despite everyone expecting the worst, the table hasn't blown up yet. There have been a few heated arguments and harsh words thrown around, and yet they all find themselves in the same spot at the same time the next week, ready for whatever happens next.
...There is the slight worry Douman is using it as a catalyst for some dark ritual, though.
Doesn't Koyanskaya of Light also give you a working TT-33 handgun replica made out of fancy pink chocolate with enchanted bullets that charms who or whatever you shoot, that is also explicitly noted to be a one of a kind item that she never puts on the market despite having the potential to be a top selling product?
She does because her valentine scene involves chucking Guda in jail and telling them "here's to help you get out of here lmao"
Speaking of commercialization and limited edition stuff, how does Vanilla feel about products that are sold in exclusive locations, like Mountain Dew Baja Blast from Taco Bell, or Dark Berry Bash from Applebees?
Would she find a way to own a Coca Cola Freestyle or Pepsi Spire machine, if only for the novelty of crafting her own sugary drink concoctions on the regular?
Alright, so how about a random question regarding your two big interests, AQW and F/GO? What Servant Classes would your favorite Artix Entertainment characters be summoned as, and who among the established Fate series characters would they get along best with? We can include both the traditional seven classes (Saber, Archer, Lancer, Caster, Rider, Assassin, Berserker) as well as the irregular classes as possible choices. (Avenger, Ruler, Shielder, Foreigner, Alter Ego, etc.)
OH THIS IS A GOOD QUESTION IM SORRY I TOOK SO LONG TO ANSWER
Artix - Saber class; also qualifies for Ruler. He and Arash seem like they’d be really good bros. They have the same good boy energy. Also probably gets along well with all the saints, especially Martha! Violent holy friends!
Laken - Lancer class, also qualifies for Beserker going by the end of the Laken saga which I dont want to talk about- also gets along well with Martha, but King Hassan as well... even if the Old Man of the Mountain reminds him a lot of Dage. Also also I can see him being bros with Dantes???
Ada - Assassin class! She’d get along really well with the Hassans, especially Hundred Faces and Serenity. Also Mash!
Galanoth - Saber class; also qualifies for Lancer and Avenger. Georgios and Siegfried are his dragon-slaying bros 4lyfe
Sys-Zero - Rider class, also qualifies as Foreigner... whoops. idk who they’d get along best with??? I wanna say Cu or Archer/EMIYA.
Gravelyn - I wanna say Avenger??? I think she’d end up liking Saber (Artoria) a lot, even if they’re different sides. Also Jalter (Jeanne Alter), edgy avenger bros.
