WIP ask game: Good Omens (part 2)
@curiouspupsicle tagged me for an ask game where you have to produce snippets from your WIPS
As Tumblr was giving me issues, I split it into different posts for people to have a look at and, if they leave a comment, then I will share another snippet from the story.
Without further ado, here are some snippets from my Good Omens fanfictions.
A Christmas Wish
Then, reality slapped him across the face as the man pulled out the letter that he wrote at Maggie’s Christmas workshop. The one where he’d asked for a magical Christmas.
His face heated as the man’s smirk widened.
“That wasn’t meant to be taken seriously,” Aziraphale muttered.
“Doesn’t matter. That’s the way it works. You send the letter and Santa makes things happen.”
Aziraphale looked the man up and down. “Forgive me for saying this, dear boy, but you don’t really look like Santa.”
The Last Holiday
“Oh. Oh dear.” Dr Pulisifer’s breathing became rapid. “That’s not good. I’m not good at this.”
“Maybe take some deep breaths?” Aziraphale suggested. “Or, could I get you some tea?”
“Tea would be great.”
Aziraphale stood up and left the doctor’s office. He’d barely taken two steps into the waiting room when Sabine handed him a strong-looking black tea.
“He always needs these when he ha to give bad news to patients.”
Her sympathetic smile made dread oil in Aziraphale’s stomach.
Here Be Dragons
The group walked into the forest, and Crowley began struggling almost immediately. The uneven terrain made the shackles cut worse into his legs and he fell often, only for the guards to haul him up and shove him onwards. More than once, the guards forced him through thorny bushes that tore his skin open and added to the blood dripping onto the ground. There was no sign of stopping or slowing as the day wore on and the heat intensified. The thick canopy of branches above provided shade, but had the unfortunate effect of trapping the hot air beneath it.
In the Dark of the Night
Crowley felt himself relax as Dorothy appeared on screen—and suddenly the laptop went black.
“What the hell?” Crowley muttered as he pressed the “on” button again.
Nothing.
Frowning, Crowley set aside the laptop and went back up the stairs to grab the power cable. Then, he headed back to the lounge, plugged it in and waited for the laptop to start.
Still nothing.
Circle of Truth
Aziraphale went over to his chair and sat down. He sighed and then picked up his tea. Bookshop saw his hands were shaking and the cup kept rattling against the saucer. Crowley ignored the sound and prowled from one side of the circle to the other, hissing under his breath whenever he slammed into the barrier. This went on for several long minutes until Bentely eventually asked
Do you think they’ll ever talk to each other?
They will. We just have to be patient.
If they don’t get a move on, Anathema’s going to come down and make them speak with those truth spells of hers . . . and that’s not going to be pretty.
I know. But, they’ll talk. You’ll see. They just need some time.
Bentley sighed, a sound that reminded Bookshop of an engine winding down. I hope you’re right.
Nothing Lasts Forever:
Crowley paused and looked out of the window. There was a young person standing outside of his house. He was tempted to gender them, until he noticed the non-binary flag pin on their lapel. They had a tartan skirt, dark, curled hair and mocha skin. They peered curiously at the house, as though trying to see who was inside.
He immediately let the curtain fall back into place.
Still, the person didn’t look deterred; instead, they pulled a notebook out of their pocket and started jotting down notes.
New Discoveries
“All right then.” Adam tilted his head. “Are you almost done for the day?”
Crowley glanced around. With Adam and Pepper helping, the trash compacting had gone a lot faster and he’d been able to stack a lot more neat cylinders in the “sorted” columns. But now the shadows had started lengthening and the temperature was about to plummet. Crowley always found it weird how the days could get so baking hot and yet it could be freezing at night.
“Yep. It’s time for all of us to go inside.”
Nesting
The eggs were nestled amongst the leaves and straw at the very top for the pile. Every few moments, Crowley would adjust a leaf here, or a fluffy bundle there, or just add a bit more fabric or feathers, until it was absolutely perfect. Something warmed inside Crowley’s chest as he looked down at them. Then, he carefully looped his coils around the eggs, tucking them in like a parent would a child.
There you go. All safe and sound.
Snake in the City
Dr Device peered at the snake, who hissed angrily.
“Easy, easy,” Aziraphale murmured as he tightened his grip on the back of the snake’s head.
The last thing he wanted was for the snake to get free and bite the vet.
She looked up and said, “it’s a serious injury, but the axe didn’t hit above the cloaca, so he should survive. We just need to stitch him up and you can take him home.”
“Thank you, doctor.”
Fanfic update...
*looks for the most heart-wrenching Crowley gif* doot be doot doo
“God fucking damnit, Crowley!”
Crowley spun to see Anathema stomping into the teachers lounge.
“I drew the Five of Wands this morning, but I didn’t think you’d be the problem!” she very nearly hissed, swatting Crowley’s shoulder as she walked by. “What did you say to her? Why is she crying, Crowley? Muriel? You okay?”
Muriel nodded and wiped a tear from their cheek. “Oh, I’m fine.” A hearty sniff. “I’m fine. It…it wasn’t Mr. Crowley, Miss Device. He wasn’t yelling at me,” they said. “I know you said he can yell quite a bit, but it’s not that.” (Crowley rolled his eyes dramatically at this.) “Mr. Crowley and I were just going to have a cupperty and I started telling him that I…”
“What is going on here?”
Crowley glanced over his shoulder a second time to see Pepper Moonchild striding down the hall looking like Justice incarnate.

Good Omens Episode 2
Ok so first of all
...that first post blew up. Or at any rate it’s become more popular than any post I’ve ever made before so THANK YOU to my new followers and everyone who liked or reblogged it!
I start the episode and the first people I see are Gabriel and Sandalphon- what an encouraging opening.
Also, forgot to mention yesterday but Aziraphale’s bookstore is a LOT bigger than I had imagined and I want to live there.
Gabriel’s so friggin oblivious he has absolutely no idea what pornography is and I am cacklingggg
that side-eye from the other guy in the shop
“You can’t have a war without War” ah yes very clever.
oooh I love Crowley’s flat. Wouldn’t want to live there, but it’s cool.
the red-haired chick is War, isn’t she. Oh, yeah, here come the guns.
I still don’t get the theme song, but I like the music
Agnes’ letter to the milk-man is so matter of fact
oh no, she cured people of diseases and thinks running is good for you, she must be a horrible satanic person
gonna be honest, this isn’t how I expected Agnes to look. I didn’t have a specific idea, mind you, this just isn’t it
well I wasn’t expecting THAT. I don’t think Mr. Adultery did either
pppft she wrote a prophecy about a phone company. Stocks 101 with Agnes Nutter.
aaaand of course I haven’t been pronouncing Anathema right either. See kids, this is why you watch the show first.
oohhhh cool, Agnes’ descendant and Thou-Shalt-Not-Commit-Adultery’s descendant end up together. Hm. Well, at least I got Newton right.
Oh Newton, you poor boy. Also Anathema’s hilarious and hot.
whoa Anathema’s cottage is cute
“I’m not mad, I’m disappointed.” How did they get the plants to tremble like that?
Poor Newton’s so confused and flusteredddd. I don’t like anyone that way but I just want to protect him.
Now I’m starting to think Mr Thou-Shalt-Not-Commit-Adultery Pulsifer might not have had that strange of a name for a witchhunter
“You’ve lost the boy-” “WE’VE lost the boy.” “A-a child has been lost” nice use of the passive there
Did Brian just BITE his ice cream? Who BITES their ice cream?
I love the introductions, although Brian’s shirt and face are sending chills down my spine
Does this happen a lot? Aziraphale makes some grand speech on philosophy and theology and then Crowley just slices through it with logic?
pppft Anathema’s so concerned about their game she’s like “Inquisition? TORTURE?” and its a tire swing
She’s looking so hard for the AntiChrist and he’s right there
That is a TERRIBLE parking job and as a permit-holder it is making me c r i n g e
He’s so obvious trying to get Crowley to get the stain off his coat
Lol Norman with his tie around his- oh. Wait, no, I read about this, those guns don’t actually kill, right? ...right?
Right. Oh, he’s gonna call him nice, isn’t he? And then we’ll have the classic pinned-to-the-wall scene.
“This is because most books on witchcraft are written by men.” If that isn’t the truth...
oh my god it would have broken her armmmmm also they act exACTly like an old married couple
“Open thine eyes and read, foolish principalite, for thy cocoa doth grow cold” how very useful. No sarcasm here, for once.
Literally I want Aziraphale to look that shocked all of the time it’s fanTAStic
Alright, that’s the end of Episode 2 and my ramblings which people seem (for some reason) to be interested in. The next post should probably be coming out sometime tomorrow.
Crowley [while babysitting the Them]: We should all want to be whales, they are icons, they are THE MOMENT
Wensleydale: Yes, and whales have very big brains—
Crowley: BRAIN CITY WHALES!!
Pepper: Here's to pro-whale 🥂
