ask thing: a story!!! :D

oh boy ok

i assume this is supposed to mean, like, an anecdote rather than a fairy tale (although that would also be rad ngl) so: the story of the time i ran cross country in year 6

year 6 was not a good time for tiny rosie, being asthmatic and fat and generally unpopular, but i had one skill and i would run that skill straight into the ground, LITERALLY, as it turned out. i was kind of weirdly good at cross country, aka DISTANCE RUNNING, because i took the tortoise approach of slow and steady wins the race.

so i was the reserve on the girl’s cross country team. there were six of us: me, jess, lucy, danielle, hannah and… fiona? the names are not important except to prove to myself that my memory works. and i would only have to run if someone else got injured, so i assumed in my naivete that i was home dry.

as it turned out This Was Not The Case as jess broke her ankle or something about three days before the competition and i was thrust into the spotlight unexpectedly.

the day of the race: imagine, if you will, an eleven year old version of me in a bright blue and yellow reversible cagoule stood in a dew covered field with 200 over eleven year olds. we lined up (probably sans cagoules although it’s been a while so who knows) and set off.

about halfway through the race i clearly got cocky and fell over on a corner. this was a little too much for young rosie and i instantly burst into tears and stayed sat on the wet grass for about five minutes before grumpily getting up and finishing the race.

i came 84th out of 200. this is the greatest sporting achievement of my life.

notes: a Literal Epic crossover, i read this in one sitting pretty much and i love it so dearly. hp fusion fic forever

Alright, three things before we start:

1) The video is upright, I know, I'm sorry, I forgot upright/portrait videos look dumb when uploaded.

2) I got cut off a bit at the beginning, but I just said, "Hi guys," haha.

3) I forgot to mention this in the video but I'll be donating $50 to ALS Canada. I'd donate 100 but I have very little money to my name (meaning not my parents' money) and I have no job so that's as much as I can spare at the moment. 

I encourage everyone to donate if they can, or do your best to raise awareness because it's important that more people know about ALS and so many other illnesses out there.
