♒: Our muses are at the beach together, by accident or not, and yours was a bit too close to the waves- will my muse laugh or perhaps be helpful?

It was Pepper’s idea, to make a team outing to the beach, somewhere on the Jersey shore. It’s nice, just to get away from the city for a while, to smell the slightly briny air of the sea. Steve is walking along the beach, digging his toes into the sand, when a flash of red catches his eye. Looking up, he watches wide eyed as a wave kicks up and soaks Pepper. Her stunned look makes Steve laugh, before she shoots him a scathing look.

"I'm not as think as you drunk," Tony said seriously, weaving slightly in place. Distantly, he could feel her cool, slim fingers working away at his shirt buttons, but the sensation was so distant that he wasn't sure whether it was just his imagination. "I hate charity fundraisers."

    He's pacing. 'Panicking' he deemed a few syllables too far, but pacing fit the bill more reasonably. Chewed off nails scrape in the least eloquent fashion against the hem of his pants, thumbs eventually tucking into their respective pockets as his eyes lazily dart along a wine label. Hm, 2005. 2005. Not his best, not his worst. Did it propose itself worthy of the occasion? Too much? Not enough?         How the hell did the room get so hot?             I'm sweating. Another glance. 2005. Definitely too cheap. Too cheap, how stupid. He had so much much time and so little to bargain on, pulse fluctuating as his front teeth chomped down on his bottom lip in synchronization with a ticking clock.

    There's a moment where he's at peace with his previously disclosed verdict of opening only a marginally expensive bottle of wine but his confidence in the matter and his entire world comes crashing down in flames as soon as the shower faucet stops. Abruptly he dives, literally dives over the couch in the living room only to stumble and fall onto his knees, crawling desperately toward his sinful rack of alcohol in search of something showier. Flashier. More expensive and ultimately special for the woman who'd left him to grovel in his own decision for about five minutes.     He feels partially guilty when the decidedly non-momentous bottle smashes against the hardwood flooring knowing it could have paid for someone's college tuition, but, not nearly enough to remedy it as his mindset was overwhelmingly focused on manually selecting a replacement. Socks wet and stained blood-red, he held the new discovery up in victory, unbeknownst that the bathroom door had opened moments ago and the scene he'd created was far less than easily explainable. 

    Tony turns, sexily, or so he self-narrates in the privacy of his mind (not fully knowing in retrospect how one could manage to turn in a sexy manner), leaning one elbow on the bar counter with both arms cradling the alcohol like a newborn.         "Changed my mind about the--"             -- booze all over the floor. "... it adds character."

Idle Hands (Closed)

Tony didn't regret having the arc reactor removed along with the shrapnel.  He knew before he undertook the procedure that it would take months before he was fully recovered from it.  He'd gotten bored in the first week.  His body would get tired long before his brain did.  He didn't have the same drive to create suits like he had before, but he still needed to build something.  He'd been working on a new suit idea for awhile.  The fact that he'd decided to take a long overdue vacation with Pepper on a private tropical island didn't stop him from working on it or a number of other things for Stark Industries.  JARVIS had been installed here so he could do the design part easily enough.  Physical labor was too taxing for him.

Tony was supposed to be relaxing outside by the pool which he was mostly doing.  He doubted the Starkpad with the drafting app pulled up completely fit the definition of relaxing.  He was wearing a tank top and a pair of swim trunks along with one of his many pairs of sunglasses while he reclined in the deck chair.  He was tweaking the design of the hardware he'd need for the new suit he had in mind and he had just sent a new design to the Starkphone guys.
