Pepper leaned in to kiss Tony’s cheek before they left their apartment for their trip to the park. She was so glad to hear Tony mention that this is the best kind of present, because spending time with him and their girls was pretty much her favorite thing to do.
As they made their way into the city, Pepper stayed close to Tony as they walked down to their favorite place to get coffee. Since the stroller was so big and they had the girls with them, Pepper offered to go in and get the coffee herself. It didn’t take her long to get a black coffee for Tony, a Flat White for herself, and she didn’t forget Emilia’s cake pop. When she exited the coffee shop, she grinned. “Em… guess what I got you?”
“Cake pop!” Emilia giggled and reached for the treat, smiling when her mom gave it to her. “Thank you!”
“You’re welcome, Em.” Pepper smiled and handed Tony his coffee. As the family continued their way to the park, they quickly stopped at the deli to pick up their lunch. “How’s Izzy doing?” Pepper peeked under the blanket and chuckled. “Oh, she’s sleeping. Guess all the excitement leading up to this outing just tired her out.”
Tony felt content as they walked to get some coffee. It was one of those normal moments in a normal day that he never thought he'd have or enjoy, but he did more than he could explain. When Pepper offered to get the coffee he nodded and moved the stroller over next to a bench.
"Mommy will be right back," he said assuring Em.
His daughter nodded and looked around. She would wave at people as they passed by. when someone was walking a dog she would excitedly point out the puppy. Tony would always smile and chat back to her. A quick check of Izzy assured him that the baby was fine and seemed to be getting sleepy.
Tony smiled when Pepper emerged. He thanked her for the coffee and took a long sip. Picking up lunch at the deli went well and they continued on to the park.
He chuckled when Pepper saw that Izzy was asleep."Well, she's had a busy day for her," he said. " If she decides to sleep through our time at the park it'll be okay. I'm sure Em will have enough energy for both of them."
