I think it would’ve been nice to see hinako and shin get partnered and kuramada and keiji her partnered
I feel pretty neutral about Naomichi and Keiji getting partnered. I think the game would've played out pretty similarly, escpessally considering Keiji gets sidelined in 3B. But Hinako and Shin getting paired would've been great!
Shin is still grappling with Kanna's loss, so having no choice but to be paired with a girl her age would've been interesting. Here's some idea's I have for that:
More Undercut
Shin trying his best to keep his distance, and being so cold that the other's take notice of it and get concerned.
Shin trying his best to keep his distance, but failing. He keeps getting closer and closer to her, until it gets to the point where he accidentally calls her "Kanna" which makes everyone freeze.
Hinako keeps comparing Shin to Sou and drawing parallel's between them. Depending on what's going to happen with his character in the future, he could either be contemplative about this or uncomfortable by the comparison.
Imagine Hinako becoming less trusting of Midori because of how kind Shin is despite his cold demeanor. Imagine if she refused to switch coffin's with Sou on the logic route because of Shin's influence.
Shin gets overly protective of her because of the trauma of not being able to protect Kanna. Imagine Hinako not being able to get up to her scheme's, because Shin won't leave her alone long enough to throw hot chocolate on the coffins. (Also if you want to get angsty, imagine his reaction to her dying in the banquet.)
Kind of a part 2 to the one above, but imagine Shin getting so much worst because of failing to protect two children.
Imagine Hinako noticing that Shin is clearly upset to be paired with her, and trying to say something kind to cheer him up once she gets closer to the group.
Because of how weary Shin is, imagine him figuring out that Hinako is the traitor long before the banquet.
Imagine Shin purposefully avoiding Sara because he thinks Hinako is in danger around her.
Imagine the Shin AI asking Shin if he's Hinako's caretaker and Shin not knowing how to respond.
So yeah, lot's could've been with this concept. I would've loved to know how this scenario would've played out in canon.
What do you think about the dummies parents? I really liked the one about the participants!
Both of y'all had very similar thoughts so I'm going to combine these asks!
Ranmaru Kageyama - Ranmaru's parents were very emotionally negligent. They were almost never home, always doing something that didn't involve their son whether it be hanging out with friends or partying. It left him to his own devices almost always, as even when they were home they didn't really speak to him. They most they ever did was peak their head's into his room to make sure he was still alive, but that's about the extent of their care.
More Undercut
Naomichi Kurumada - Naomichi's parents are mostly good with him. His Father could be hard on him growing up, and had the expectation that he'd be talented in his hobbies and always get good grades. However, it all came from a well meaning place, and both of his parents love him a ton. They're super supportive of him, and his Father comes to his boxing matches to cheer him on. His Mother doesn't tend to go, but that's only because it bothers her to see people hit her son.
Anzu Kinashi - Anzu has good parents that are very much like her. They're a very playful household who like to tell jokes and prank each other on the occasion. They're very supportive of her dreams, and are stoked that she has a good mentor to help her become the best clown possible.
Mai Tsurugi - I have an out there headcanon for this, but I imagine Mai's parents are survivalists. They just sit around waiting for the world to end, and want Mai to know how to defend herself no matter what. That's why she's able to throw a knife, and why she's so quick to realize that acting more bobble headed then she really is was a great way for Q-Taro to lower his guard to her.
Shunsuke Hayasaka - Shunsuke has two Dad's and both of them are very average people. They work office jobs and make enough for their family to live comfortably, but not enough to splurge. They used to take Shunsuke to work with them quite often since they couldn't afford a sitter, and Shunsuke thinks back on that time with a lot of fondness. Both of them are attentive toward their son and are proud of him for the good and stable job he has.
Hinako Mishuku - Hinako's Mother passed away when she was young which landed her in an ASU-NARO orphanage, but before that her Mom was a very sweet person. She was kind, and always had time to dote on Hinako. However she was pretty naïve, and Hinako saw her kindness get taken advantage of quite often. This made her weary of most people, and her Mother passing didn't do a lot to help her weariness of the world.
i have this hc where hinako’s free-time as an asunaro agent is spent talking to the shin ai and they are the best of buds
That’s so sweet I love that idea!! Plus I love the idea that Shin automatically snaps into big brother mode around middle school girls. He sees a girl aged between 11-14 and asks “Is anyone going to adopt them?” And doesn’t wait for an answer.
oh my god I’m sorry for sending in so many asks abt these two they r on the mind a lot lately but anyway, I had this what if idea where hinako meets shin before she meets midori and gets involved in asunaro and I wanted to know how u think shin woulda reacted to finding hinako in the coffin at the start of chapter three, or finding out abt her entanglement in asunaro.
(No one can ever send me to many asks! I love answering them!)
I think it depends how close they were.
If they hardly knew each other, I think Shin wouldn't act much different then he did in the game. He's so focused on facing Midori again and having just lost Kanna that I honestly think he'd be to worried about other things to care that much. (He would care, just not more than other things.)
But if they were closer and friends or found family, then I think Shin would be furious. He already see's so little difference between Sou and Sara in the logic route. So if he thought that Sou was using a child like Sara did, then I could see the situation being a trigger for him.
I think he'd try his best to protect and help Hinako, and I also think he'd be much more hesitant to kill Sou in this AU. Because killing Sou means also killing another little sister figure. And I can't see him being cool with that after the second main game.
