I want Jake to get a matching wedding photo for his bedside. I love the idea that both of them, whichever way they turn when they wake up, see their love first thing
Amy had been in the bedroom for five seconds before she realized something was off about the space. All of their plants were accounted for, all three of the nail varnishes she kept on the dresser were accounted for, both house phones, Mac's baby monitor... but the framed wedding photo she kept on her side of the bed was not.
"Hey, babe? Where did my picture frame go?" she asked, brows furrowed not out of upset, but confusion. Jake looked up from the video he was watching on his phone and raised his brows, casting a glance over to the empty bedside table. Oh, he thought to himself, before deciding that he should probably answer her verbally.
"I took it to get copied," he said simply, offering her nothing more than a little smile. "I wanted one for my side."
Amy's puzzled look settled, her straight-line tiers turning upwards at his response. "Oh," she answered, her smile now in full force.
"Yeah, should be ready in a day or so. I thought that it would be faster, but I guess nowhere has same-day printing anymore."
"The CVS in midtown does," Amy offered, and Jake turned up his nose. "I'm not going to midtown for a picture, Ames."
"Our wedding picture," she corrected, joining him in the bed with a small, teasing smirk. Jake replied with a roll of his eyes, leaning in to place a quick kiss to Amy's cheek before he settled into her side, his phone now entirely forgotten. "Yeah, well. I love you, but I'm not going to midtown to get a picture printed. It'll be ready tomorrow morning at the Walgreens right around the corner," he chuckled.
"Understandable. But, uh, where's the frame?" Amy asked, a soft laugh bleeding into her speech.
"Oh!" Jake bleated, shaking his head at himself. "It's in my bag. I guess I forgot to put it back," he said, scrambling to get up to retrieve aforementioned frame from aforementioned bag. Once it was grabbed, he placed it pristinely, perfectly straight back on her bedside table, nodding at his 'work' - which Amy could only snicker at, shaking her head affectionately. "There we go," she praised, welcoming him back into bed and making herself comfortable against his shoulder.
