Jesus, I trust in You with all my heart!
“But in the day that I’m afraid, I lay all my fears before You and trust in You with all my heart.” Psalm 56:3 (TPT)
When I am afraid, I will put my trust and faith in You." Psalm 56:3 (AMP)
“Let us look only to Jesus, the One who began our faith and who makes it perfect.” Hebrews 12:2 (NCV)
Ever since I've been a kid I’ve had a fear of heights at times. I was out on my bike some days ago and as I was crossing a bridge a sudden wave of intense fear came over me. I knew it was the enemy, because that’s one of his favorite tactics: play on pre-existing fears. The enemy can’t read minds but he watches closely and he takes notes. Friend, the enemy knows what you are afraid of and he will ruthlessly play on your fears.
Anyway, I prayed and I clearly heard Jesus telling me not to be afraid. He told me to bring an image of Him to mind and focus on it. I found myself saying, “Jesus my Shepherd, my Savior; God my Father, God my Creator, Holy Spirit my Friend, my Comforter, my Helper” over and over until I made it over the bridge. The same thing happened on the way back and I repeated the words. A few days later fear hit me again, going over a different bridge and Jesus told me to do what I did before. And when I came back over that bridge I found I was over it before I even realized it. And bridges haven’t bothered me since. Why am I telling you this? Because when you focus on Jesus, He makes all things possible. The enemy is behind fear and “Where God’s love is, there is no fear, because God’s perfect love takes away fear.” (1 Jn 4:18 ERV)
Friend, fear has no power over you when you focus on Jesus. He’s your Shepherd, He will always help you. There is no more perfect love than the love Jesus has for you and He can take away ANY fear.
PRAYER: Thank You, Jesus for helping me through my fear. I pray that whoever is reading this will always turn to You and trust in You when they are afraid. In Your mighty, powerful name, Jesus. Amen.
