You stole and reposted my caitriona balfe post - you could have just hit reblog, that's not cool tumblr etiquette
Wow. Considering I just had two people send me messages like this I’m going to address it once here and now. I DID NOT, REPEAT, D I D N O T, steal anyone’s post. I found these images independently, on my own, and it was not through Tumblr. Considering no one on Tumblr actually owns any of these images, no one has the right to claim it as their own work in the first place.
As a photographer and someone who enjoys posting her own creations on here, I completely understand the feeling of owning work and how awful it feels when someone takes that work and either claims it as their own or reposts it without consent. I know because I’ve had that done to me. HOWEVER. THIS IS NOT WHAT HAPPENED HERE. I would never do this because I know what a jacka** move it is and it makes me angry that anyone would even imply that I did this. Besides the fact that I haven’t even seen the two other posts of these images, I have been vocal (not in this fandom, but in another) about accounts who do steal original content without consent or credit. I despise those accounts and usually do my best to get them to stop.
I’m sure these photos have been posted previously. I’m sure I’m not the only one who has found these photos, enjoyed them, and wanted to share them with others who would as well. And I’m sure I won’t be the last (*points out two people sending the same message about the same images*). But I’m also sure we can all be adult enough to understand that there are several ways to obtain these images considering they have been public and online for several years. Like I said. None of us have any real claim to these images unless you were the actual photographer or IMG itself. That is the same for any of Caitriona’s/any actor’s photos. So, before anyone starts accusing people of theft and lecturing about Tumblr etiquette, how about we think with cooler heads about what content is out on the internet and how it makes it’s way to Tumblr.
