People can call me a dick for this but if you go to a Broadway/professional level performance, whether it ballet, theater, or a musical, and you wear jeans, leggings, or sweatpants, it is insulting to the performers.

At LEAST wear slacks or a dress at professional shows

I'm at a Broadway showing of the Lion King today and it's ridiculous. Yes, it's hot out, but that is no excuse to wear shorts and jeans inside of the air conditioned theater. I'm wearing suit pants and a button up and I look overdressed.

Yesterday a friend and I went to see the Lion King play and it was amazing, I cried so much (live performances have that effect on me). But it also got me thinking that if you hate AI you should go out and watch and support live performances, go see plays, musicals, go to the ballet and the opera, go to some random kids dance recital, I promise you it's worth it. AI is getting shoved down our throats in the little computers we constantly carry so let's look away for a bit a support the human work and creativity that goes into these types of artistic expressions

I miss touring but also it’s just so depressing that every venue is so unventilated and hostile to immune compromised people or really anyone who doesn’t want to rawdog this plague regardless of the status of their health. Maybe at some point I’ll build up the energy to somehow plan a tour of outdoor venues or even just back yards but the last few years have so alienated me from my music community that I haven’t even had the motivation to plan outdoor shows here, let alone elsewhere around the country.

I like noodling at home and playing for myself but I’d be lying if I pretending writing isn’t also about connecting with others. I miss that bit.
