Yesterday a friend and I went to see the Lion King play and it was amazing, I cried so much (live performances have that effect on me). But it also got me thinking that if you hate AI you should go out and watch and support live performances, go see plays, musicals, go to the ballet and the opera, go to some random kids dance recital, I promise you it's worth it. AI is getting shoved down our throats in the little computers we constantly carry so let's look away for a bit a support the human work and creativity that goes into these types of artistic expressions

Not to bring up Timothee again, but aside from what he said, I do think it's kind of funny that some of his fans are asking people, 'Well, have YOU ever watched a ballet or opera?' and a number of the answers are either, 'Yeah, actually,' or, 'I would if I had access' or 'No, but I've been to plays.'

These art forms are not struggling due to lack of interest. They struggle for many reasons including art programs getting cut from schools. I feel like if you are an artist of any shape or form, you should be supporting art, not bringing it down.

Also, no one asked him about opera or ballet. He brought it up himself. So, I don't know why people think 'he was just stating his opinion!' is a good defense when no one asked.

I know no one cares about this anymore but I'm writing this comment here anyway:

I am someone who is a big fan of Timothée Chalamet, and I also love ballet. I go see The Nutcracker every single Christmas as a tradition, and I also go relatively regularly throughout the year. The 14 cents comment was super dickish. The way he said it was rude. I think people with working brain cells can understand what he's saying, but for me, it was just everything else about it. He said it on that platform in that way because he was talking to Matthew McConaughey and thought it was a safe space to kind of be cheeky about it, whereas the other times he mentioned his family being part of the ballet world, he was on a platform with a bit more serious media. He wouldn't say the 14 cents comment to Misty Copeland's face or anyone else part of that world or the theater world... which, by the way, he has spoken about wanting to do theater too. Theater is not as popular as cinema either. Broadway and the West End are the most popular theater markets in the world, and they still struggle with connecting with more people; it's just that you can get a Tony Award or an Olivier Award from there to boost your acting resume, so he probably wouldn't talk shit about them.
