I'm trying to watch The Edge of Horizon but dear lord Phob's mom is so annoying, I genuinely have to fast-forward whenever she's on screen. I understand the why of the character and the motivations but more than protective it just comes through as malicious. I think it would have been helpful to add even a single scene of her actually caring about her son because to me it just reads as her seeing him more as an inconvenience than her son. Which might well be intentional I don't know, but for now she's the real antagonist, Chat is just comic relief
