The Species of The Argent Pact
The Argent Pact (at current) is made up of three organic species. Two founding races, the Ardenta and Sorannen, and one protectorate race, the Sikirians. Collectively, we are known as the Argenta.
We will start with the Ardenta, given it is an Ardenta writing this log. The Ardenta are the first of the founding races, heralding from the planet Ardent Prime in the Ardent system. We are a people known for two things: Strategy and scholars, although the latter is more of a lost art in recent times.
We are the main players of the Pact. It is us who run the military and government, maintain interstellar relations with other powers, and generally oversee all aspects of our civilisation, as we are the only ones both qualified for and willing to take on the task. We also are the only race in the Pact to possess psionic abilities, born of the same methods that allow us to live on in a state of undeath.
The Sorannen are the second of the founding races, heralding from the planet Kalteras Secundus (more commonly Kalteron) in the Kalteras system. They are the scientists of the Pact, in fact, their entire culture is based around the pursuit of scientific interests. Much to their detriment at times, as the word safety literally does not exist in their language.
They run all the Pact’s scientific operations, pushing our bleeding edge of technology and understanding ever further with copious research and experimentation. The Ardent Mainframe, our trademark machine network that streamlines so much of the Pact’s function was a Sorannen invention, and they continue to upgrade it even now, with a steady hand behind them, of course.
The Sikirians, in contrast to the previous, are not a founding race. They are a protectorate of the Pact, an allied state that is sheltered under our banner.
They hail originally from Sikir, a now shattered planet in the Sikir system, in the north-west quadrant. Before their world’s destruction, a few hundred thousand Sikirians escaped aboard a vast evacuation craft built from their world’s moon, remaining aboard in stasis for 100,000 years until they drifted into the Ardent system. But that is a story for another time.
The Sikirians were known during our era as builders. Their ingenuity and hardiness allowed them to survive and thrive anywhere they set their minds to, a useful strength in a time where the considered weak were exploited or crushed without mercy. They prefer to do things on their own, and only accepted protectorate status with the Pact so they could establish a new home without having to concern themselves with defence.
That is all the pressing information we can deliver. This log is meant as a simple overview, not a detailed analysis. We do hope, however, that it was at least enjoyable a read. That is all, for now. Further logs will come in time. Pact Eternas.
