M I R A C L E
I remember when I first saw the twins, I was sitting at the back part particularly in the last row of CCF Main auditorium as they were sharing their testimony of how God has been so good to their lives, making a big influence to the young generation. I thought it was too idealistic at first, how they were able to grow and live without being influenced by their friends who go to parties and other usual stuff which most young people do nowadays, but when I got the chance to know them even for just a short period of time, I know there is something more beyond their faces. I could really see the passion in serving the young people.
There are no words how grateful I am to the Lord who made all these things possible. I thank Him for bringing the Perkins family to Taguba family unexpectedly, how we were able to share the struggles and victories of our lives to each other as the Lord God guided us through all we had been through. We were able to enlighten each other through our life experiences most especially in our downfalls, making us hope more in the Lord as He reveals Himself in every circumstance we undergo. I truly admire your family not only because you have brought so much positivity in our hearts that is contagious, but also you carried so much inspiring stories that you could share to touch our lives. I saw and felt the humility in you, making us so comfortable spending time with each other. I saw how you guys were very patient in making people feel they’re loved because despite the heat and exhaustion, you continue to pursue your advocacy to help people make a change in their lives and become a better person, letting them know how God truly loves us even though we don’t deserve it.
Tita Tess, I saw my mom in you. Because just like her, she literally fights for her children. You’re a mom who’s willing to sacrifice herself for the sake of a child’s own good and happiness. Aside from the fact that you’re humorous, I admire you for being strong in the Lord regardless of what happens. You always see the good in people. And I love you for that.
To Tito Tarny, thank you for your funny and amazing stories. Haha! I’ve never encountered such an American whose jokes were witty as you. Hahaha! I could also see my dad in you, how you were so patient in the Lord. You’re the kind of man who never gives on the Lord because just like Him, He never gives up on us. J Even though we seldom talk about things (because I’m quite shy making the first move to initiate the conversation haha) I admire you for being so appreciative on our culture. Thank you for your kind heart.
To the twins, I know we don’t really talk that much but I admire both of you for being so versatile regardless of what place you’re in and of different kinds of people you get to meet every single day of your lives. I support you on whatever it is that may help the young people bring out the best in them. Keep walking in the Lord as you guys use your talents to perform in thousands of people. Always remember to keep your feet on the ground.
It’s been a long time since I last saw my dad enjoyed that much, as he was watching the twins perform in respective schools and as he listened to life stories of yours through simple fellowship. I could say that the all tiring days and sleepless nights were all worth it because as a family in Christ, we were able to contribute something to the lives of people here in Isabela and Cagayan. I’m looking forward to what God has for us as we expand His goodness through our respective works. I remember a year ago before all these things happened, I prayed that maybe some time we could all go together and hang out with each other’s families, and true enough, a year later it happened. Haha! Nothing really is impossible to those who believe in Him.
I also just want to share that I am very much blessed for growing up with parents who hold on to the Lord even when it feels like we can’t do it anymore. God’s love has been so powerful because through all the struggles, He never fails His promises and plans. God only wants us to patiently wait for Him because He definitely knows the best for us. Jesus will never give up on us even when there are times we already gave up on Him. He is a sovereign God because His thoughts are higher than man’s thoughts, and His ways are better than ours. Hope to see you again soon.
