Hi I recently went for a trim after trying to grow out my bleached hair (my roots are an ashy blonde so they blend pretty well with the bleached part). The hairdresser was shocked & so was I when she showed me how drastic the state of my hair on my left side differed from the right. Its coarse, dry, and it's about 3! in shorter. I saw it was uneven but had no idea it was this bad. What couldve caused this? I sleep on my stomach and on a silk pillowcase, dont use heat, etc.How can I prevent this?

Depends on how you bleach, it sounds very much like bleach damage. Its possible you always start at that side so it gets processed for the longest amount of time and with the most bleach (people tend to put less on as they nearly run out) or its possible you didnt rinse properly and ended up with creeping damage.

If your hair dresser couldnt tell you why it was like this, its unlikely I'll shed much more light though.

 Just be careful from now on to only bleach your roots and not to overlap as much as possible.

Use protein treatments, argan oil and deep conditioners.
