The cast and crew of #HeatedRivalry took home all 16 awards they were nominated for at the 2026 Canadian Screen Awards. There are not enough words in any language to describe how proud we are of this show and everyone involved!!!!!!

- we find out they both have started doing fort pitt museum stuff (preferably together)
- other characters making jokes about them being attached at the hip, whether to them or gossiping about them
- ponytail mel/ER barbie and ken joke
- mel opening up to frank about feeling lonely as holidays approach (maybe frank opens up about the same thing??)
- frabby BONES
- indication that mel and langdon are remembering small things about each other in a coded way (she brings him red bull, he knows what becca is up to that day, etc)
- langdon makes mel blush (please god)
- ambulance bay scene even more charged than s2 finale
- hug?????? (preferably featuring a braid touch)
- no loose ass wedding ring on that finger
absolute pipedreams but what do we have if not hope:
- carpooling reveal at beginning of season
- after coded ambulance bay finale scene, they leave together
- indication that they just did matching historical themed halloween costumes
- langdon calling someone out for being rude/dismissive/ignoring mel
- robby and langdon tension because robby sees his history with collins through langdon and mel, argument
- langdon panicking during a procedure and demanding mel even tho he has plenty of other help
- bet on when they’re going to get together/when langdon is getting divorced
- jealous mel or langdon as a patient flirts with them right in front of the other
- frank asks someone for help moving bc he can’t fuck up his back again (he’s moving into that divorced dad apt)
- specific conversation of one of them asking another character what they think about the relationship/if it should be pursued
- patient waits for langdon to leave room before asking mel if they’re dating/married OR saying “he’s fine as fuck” or something
- making out sloppy style in the parking lot ❤️ or anywhere ❤️

“What do you mean?”
He stared up at the ceiling and shrugged. “Three days is a long time to be alone with your thoughts.”
“Did you think I wasn’t coming back?”
John didn’t answer her, his eyes still on the ceiling. The bubble popped, and all he could feel now was dread and panic.
Hero studied him, starting to think that maybe she’d done a number on John with all her efforts to fight her feelings and act like she hated him. She also realized that he was prone to overthinking and spiraling. She'd seen his anxiety and the dark cloud over his head manifest before. Based on what he’d told her about Pedro and his relationship to his family, Hero figured she had a pretty good idea of how much he’d been struggling with his mental health. Maybe he wasn’t used to having good things in his life. Maybe he wasn’t used to things going his way.
She shifted so she was propped up on one elbow and leaning over John, looking down at him until he was forced to meet her gaze. “I told you I was, and I meant it. Because...because I wanted to. I have a plan, John, and believe it or not, I need you for it to work.”
John widened his eyes at her. “Me? How is that going to do any good?”
“Well, I was going to explain everything over lunch, but now it feels like you think I’m going to disappear at any moment.”
There was a lump in his throat. How the hell did she always manage to figure out what was going on in his head? “Hero.”
“Am I wrong?”
John sighed, running a hand over his face and sliding out of bed to look out the window. His thoughts were going a mile a minute. “No.”
Hero watched him at the window, an ache in her chest. “Why do you think I’m not in this with you?”
“Because you shouldn’t have to be. I’m the one who did this. You’re going to realize exactly how fucked up I really am, and you’re going to go back to your life and your family, and find a way to heal and move on from this. But I’m the one who has to live knowing what I did.” John didn’t turn to face her as he spoke. He sounded defeated.
“You’re spiraling.”
“It’s the truth, isn’t it? You know it. I know it. We both know I'll never be good enough for you.” John gritted his teeth, his eyes focused on the wall of the building across the street from him. It was a nice day, not too cloudy or gloomy. But John barely noticed, lost in his own head. “I never should’ve let you come on to me that night. I shouldn’t have run away with you. I should’ve just let you be. Left you out of the whole thing, with Pedro. Those men would never have...attacked you, if it wasn’t for me. I just keep making your life worse.”
(He should never have fallen in love with her, either. But it was too late for that now.)
Hero was floored. “John...”
“You deserve so much better than me, Hero.”
A pang of sorrow ripped through Hero’s chest, but she felt the familiar anger come back, rising up her throat. “First of all, fuck you.”
