“Oh hey, you’re awake...” Daniel was trying to be silent, but his voice still rose in the somber atmosphere of the hospital. But, he would say he did a good job, and besides, his wife was finally awake. “...how are you feeling?”

Now that Amary was out of the hospital, their currently living situation had been strange. She was living with her parents, and judging by the severity of her amnesia, there was no way she would ever remember Daniel. But it didn’t mean he was giving up; God no. If anything, it was an opportunity to get his wife to love him again. They had agreed upon one thing; Daniel was going to give her all the space she didn’t. And hopefully they could still be friends, at least.
But that was the thing; Daniel couldn’t be friends with her. No, because he still loved her, and it ate him on the inside that she couldn’t remember that. But Daniel also had to remember that he felt that way, what was Amaryllis feeling? Realising that she had a whole life that she couldn’t remember. If he had it bad, she had it even worse.
So, Daniel shows up at the front door of his wife’s Amary’s door, knocking on the wooden frame, and holding flowers in the other. He takes a deep breath, a big smile on his face as he waits for the door to open. “Hey there, stranger...” Holding the flowers out for her, the smile becomes a grin.

He knew what he was doing was going to stir a reaction. In fact, that is EXACTLY what he was hoping was going to happen. The woman before him was his friend, yes. Oh they had been friends for a long time. But he K N E W that they could have been more. That they SHOULD have been more. He felt it in his BONES. They were CLOSE and always had been. People always told them they belonged together, but he took no notice of them.
Afterall, it wasn’t until recently he realised he had feelings for her. Ben and Frances had been chilling on the sofa for ages, and despite the fact the film they were watching was THE most boring film he had sat through he had been patient. Maybe she was enjoying it, or maybe she was good at pretending. Either way he was past the point of boredom and decided to do something a little bit more ... ENTERTAINING.
GRABBING HOLD OF HER he started to play fight, pulling on her top and pushing pillows toward her. He was just WAITING for the perfect moment but for now, a fun fight (in which he, naturally, would lose) ensued.
