Perry turns THREE... an interview.
Perry: (walks into the kitchen) mommy, pink baby is hungry. Me: oh really? are you going to feed her a bottle? Perry: maybe just milk from my boob (points to her boob) (she walks off. two minutes later I walk into her room...) Starting School
Hi, friends! If you’re like me, today wasn't just any Tuesday morning. It's the first day of school for your little ones {or maybe it was last week... but for us, it was today!}. Whether it is kindergarten, pre-k, or even in our case, Perry's second year of preschool, us mamas send a little piece of our hearts out the door on the first day of school.
Perry has been excited for school for the last few weeks. From getting a new backpack & water bottle to picking out her “back to school” dress, she’s just been elated to start back. Today, she woke up bright & early, ready to put on a pink dress & her new pink backpack. She grabbed pink dog, rolled her up in her nap mat & insisted that we take Blueberry in the car as well. On the way to school, we talked about what she was most excited about. Her response - “everything!” We went over being kind to our friends, obeying our teachers & how much I would miss her today. “It’s ok momma, don’t cry. You can pick me up later!”...Bless her sweet little self.
I was so proud of her as we walked into school. She was all smiles & with a sweet little "I love you mama. I’ll miss you" & she walked into her classroom & never turned back.
I cried like baby just as soon as I made it to the car, of course. I am already so excited to pick her up, it is entirely too quiet around here without her! :)
For your viewing pleasure on this Monday! Some of my favorite lines include: "Ladies & gentlemen..." "I'm a princess & I can twirl..." "Clap for me guys..." Gosh, I love this girl. 5.11.15
Dallas has basically been shut down for the past two days. Prior to that, schools were closed on both Monday and Tuesday due to ice... This week has basically been the best week ever for kids! We did what all other Texans were doing yesterday and today and played in the snow turned ice. Perry loved it for .2 seconds until she broke into hysterics because her boots were getting too wet and icy. Looks like we need to talk about the purpose of rainboots (Rainboots turned snow boots in Texas). At least she looked super cute stomping through the slush! For the record, I let her pick what color of new boots she wanted me to order and she picked pink (again). Go figure; she love pink.
if I say this age is my favorite, will I sound redundant? days packed with costumes, puzzles, baby dolls, fruit snacks, and just enough attitude to keep my game sharp. two years old is not for the faint of heart, amiright? but geez, when it's good, it's gooooood.
