Ok these are my personal opinions on the mk legends animated movies.

fucking phenomenal artwork and animation
Raiden is given some fucking justice
Shang tsung is dope in the first 2 movies
Shang tsung is fucking nerfed to all hell. Like come on man! We hardly see him fight and when we do its fucking a cheap fast paced bullshit that honestly he shouldn't be beaten so easily. He's supposed to be tough. Even at his weakest. Someone at NRS has hella bias and its disgusting. Shang tsung gets so fucking weakened as the movies progressed it pisses me off. Not just because he's my fave. But also you dont do that shit to an og big bad! You just dont!!!
Raiden while amazing. Still is given the short end. But I'll take any good writing for raiden at this point
Johnny cage is stupider than nessicary. And is reduced to jokes and look he's himbo but not that himbo. Good lord.
Sonya. Oh poor sonya. Reduced to a "iM A toUgH GrrL" trope. And i feel she's also reduced to im a love interest for butt mobkey johnny cage and not an actual fucking character on her own. I feel sonya should never be written by men. Sorry not sorry about your feelings but no. Sonya can't be written well by men. Period.
Liu kang needed to not have protag privileges in a way that seems like he's goku and not liu kang.
Kung laos treatment. Period. Nuff said.
The overwhelming amount of plot holes.
Many more reasons but these are the main ones.
Overall compared to the games,especially recent games.
I give it a 7 outta 10 and thats being generous. Its better story than the games. But overall not as fun as the games.
If im being honest I'd give it maybe a solid 6 if we take into the amount of nerfing they did. And only making characters conveniently weak sauce or Overpowered when the "plot" suits them. When is bad writing. Thats like a writing sin 101.
There is no balance in mk period rn. And that's the problem.
But overall is thr movies fun? Yes. Are the great? No. But they are entertaining. And if thats what you want. By all means watch.
If you're a shang tsimp like me. You'd be better off watching scorpions revenge and leave it. Battle of the realms is disappointing as a shang fan.
And snowblind? Forget it. We get no love. And it was horseshit. And honestly that movie sucks ass overall im sorry. I got bored watching the first few minutes. I dont nearly love the characters enough to care.
And shang tsung was a disappointment in that movie.
Battle of the realms at least he fought for a lil bit. Tho it still felt disappointing.
Scorpions revenge he had presence and honestly was terrifyingly amazing. But i felt the actors talent was wasted. He should have gotten a chance to fight more. The pacing of legends is awful and too fast.
They would have benefited from a full series not a movie.
It feels gimmicky and sad for me as a fan.
However. They are entertaining. At the end of the day. They are nothing more than that to me.
But nothing worth imho to collect as a fan.
More of watch once and be done with it.
Scorpions revenge maybe if im being honest might be worth you collection. But only if you like scorpion. Or as a shang tsung fan like me want the best of the 3 trainwrecks.
Or if you like raiden. Battle of the realms or scorpions revenge. But even then. Take it with a grain of salt.
