For me, stones are fragments of different planets. It's so cosmic and at the same time earthly. It represents the essence of where they come from. Their color and pattern are a message for whoever finds them.

My favorite Frankenstein fics of 2025 - Recommendations/personal archive
None of these are written by me. All authors are tagged, and all fics are hyperlinked. I just wanted a chance to highlight some works that I think were very well written, both in case anyone wants recommendations and for my own organization! :)

Bride by @delicrieux (25.6k words, Victor x bride!creature reader series, NSFW elements) mixes some elements of both the book and movie. The style it's written in is elegant (including the NSFW and questionable elements--it's very gothic), and it's such a fun perspective to read--I love how having a reanimated reader allows her to exist as such a blank slate, and I think the author does a wonderful job of giving her well-developed and endearing character. She's terribly codependent and does not realize there is very much an imbalance in their relationship, but in the most addictive possible way as a reader. You can absolutely tell the amount of thought that was poured into this.
The epilogue is brilliantly written, and without spoiling anything, I adore the way it shifts the perspective of the entire series before it. Also, I love how Elizabeth is written! I don't see anywhere near enough fics that characterize her this well.

A Touch Of Kindness (Creature x reader, based on the novel--my personal favorite pairing, although I love them all! Reader gets kidnapped btw, be warned) by @strangeanonperson is a wonderfully creative series which follows the idea of a reincarnated reader who is a friend of Victor Frankenstein and meets the creature upon its initial creation--which, predictably, he never forgets, as he then goes on to seek them out. It also allots different wording depending on how the reader identifies, which makes the story feel more realistic. It deals directly with a lot of the period-accurate misogyny or queerphobia the reader would face, which I really liked.
The ending is also left up to you, so if the kidnapping does happen to deter you, you have the choice to end it--at least eventually. I loved keeping up with this one!

If you're open to NSFW, this alphabet (Movie Creature x reader, 6.5k words, NSFW elements [obviously, lol]) by @daincrediblegg is very much exactly in character. It expands on everything explicitly known about the creature to flesh out implicit preferences and details that make perfect sense. It's also very thoughtfully written and a very sweet portrayal of how he'd act in a relationship dynamic. The style it's written in is much more sophisticated than modern, and I find that it suits the source material.
Overall, if you like the creature and also smuttier works, it's very much worth checking out! :)

A Cure for His Madness by @multific (Movie Victor x reader, fix-it, oneshot) includes the reader building a relationship through an academic rivalry with Victor (very fitting) and later forcing Victor to take responsibility for the creature, but while working through his past.
She's written a lot of both Victor x reader and Creature x reader, all of them being very enjoyable to read, and I'd highly recommend checking her masterlist out if you like the one I linked! <3

Another fix-it because I'm soft, but Papa by CaptainDoofus (Movie Victor & creature, fix-it, oneshot, 2.1k words) on AO3 legitimately made me want to cry. Warning that Victor in this is understandably out of character, but in the most positive way possible. It follows a sterile Victor who created Adam not for sake of scientific discovery but out of a slightly misguided attempt to be able to have a son. Its being out of character makes it no less endearing--again, it's a fix-it. It's very, very much fluff.

If any tagged authors want fics removed from this list or absolutely anything about the descriptions changed, please don't hesitate to let me know so I can delete or update things! <3 my main is @/smilinginthehalflight, so anyone whom I've talked to or spam liked, that was me, just so you know I'm not coming out of nowhere!
