I feel like there’s been big progress in the set up. The holes in the top were because I had tried to put in a head harness, however once I did the straps couldn’t be shortened enough to fit my head & the strap buckle pushed against the extension I had to put on the back. So I took that off and installed basic elastic straps along with the other hardware.

Designed a jester costume for myself! Thinking about making this into an actual cosplay!

WIP caique mask. This doesn’t look like much, but it was a good few hours work! Parrots have a palette-like thing in their top bill that guards the nostril holes in the beak and the sides of it connect to soft connecting tissue at the sides of the beak.

I’ve sculpted the palette base & once dry/sanded I’m envisioning covering it with a stretch fabric. The pointy edges will be attached to side strips of stretch fabric/elastic between the top and bottom jaws, so they will pull with the fabric, plus it’s part of the mask hinging setup. I’m really hoping this plan works out

It's late at night and I shouldn't post this, but... Ah well! Anyways, this actually isn't a cosplay, look at that. In fact, this was homework- I kid you not. This was my final project for an art class I took.

The assignment was to create an alter ego and then make a costume, doll, or other project that was a. completely sewn and b. at least two feet in any one direction. Since I'm a costumer, the choice seemed obvious! I was also the only person in the group who chose a costume that actually wore it to the final critique/discussion day.

The alter ego I created is named Elizabeth "Eli" Marie Worthington, a sort of mysterious lady who teaches fencing and swordsmanship to the children of wealthy households and is the subject of numerous rumors. We had to write a little blurb, which you can read here- just keep in mind I wrote that quite a long time ago, with no editing!

(Ah! Perhaps it bears mentioning that I have tutorials! Many, in fact, but pertinent here are spats and hats!)
