Well, the #NEOPETS Usuki Couture contest winners were announced today! I didn't make it in, but I'm still happy with my entry! I turned Usuki into a collectible Barbie doll 🩷💜 

I've been wanting to do more paper doll compositions and this was the perfect excuse! I imagine this is how her packaging would look. 

All her accessories are actual items on the site, and she even comes with an Usuki belt trinket!

FINALLY done with the tfp starscream holoform!

after like, a half dozen tries I at last have a human tfp design I feel does the bot proper justice.

now to figure out k-o, megatron and maybe Arcee?? it'll be a hot minute, since im right at the end of my grant deadline. but I have a lot of unfinished wips that hopefully will start to get posted over time. (cygate, KO/BD, and two ocs who never got official art)

My friend gave me the idea for an exalted four cosplay and, initially I thought that was crazy, and then i actually thought I could pull it off

cus it’s super ambitious (at least the headpiece that’s gonna be a nightmare to sculpt out of like, foam or something probably)

but like imagine how cool it’d be

oh yeah and Sam and Sybil get to be my earrings for this cus they contributed or something

I started making them a few days ago but I made the armature wrong and it is now a single Joel earring WIP

I'm trying something new with my design sheets!

These are some of the most time-intensive things I make — research, reference hunting, measurements, reconstruction work, layout, editing, and sometimes commissioned artwork — so going forward, I'm planning to give each one a proper three-week production window.

And, like the oneshot polls, I want you to help me decide what gets made next.

I'll choose four projects from my ever-growing idea pile. You vote for the one you most want to see. Once the poll closes, the winner becomes my next design-sheet project and I'll spend the following three weeks researching, rebuilding and putting the finished resource together.

⟡ Neytiri's Bow & Arrows — A full prop-focused breakdown of Neytiri's iconic bow and arrows, looking closely at the shape, wrapping, decorative details, materials, individual arrow components and the little design choices that make the whole set unmistakably hers.

⟡ Mo'at — Tsahìk Costume & Braid — A focused breakdown of one of my favourite designs in the franchise: Mo'at's layered ceremonial top, headdress and incredible front braid, including the beadwork, materials, construction and how all three pieces come together as one silhouette.

⟡ Jake's Toruk Makto Braid — A detailed reconstruction of Jake's Toruk Makto hairstyle, breaking down the braid structure, sectioning, wraps, beads and ornamentation to work out how the finished design is actually put together.

⟡ Neytiri's War Design — Rebuilt — A complete rebuild of my existing Fire and Ash design sheet, with clearer layouts, updated research and references, brand-new artwork, and a deeper look at Neytiri's war paint, headpiece, hair, costume and accessories.
