If you find out that someone doesn’t drink/smoke:

Don’t ask them why, 90% of the time it’s a personal reason that’s none of your business and they don’t want to unload their baggage with someone they just met so they’re probably gonna lie to you and give you a bullshit answer. Just say “oh okay cool” and move on.

If you know someone that doesn’t drink/smoke:

Don’t ask them if they’ll drink/smoke. Ever. If they wanted to they would, they don’t need your permission. They know one sip/hit/shot/etc. “won’t kill them” but they don’t want to and that should be enough.

If one of your friends doesn’t drink/smoke:

Don’t make it your life’s mission to get them to drink/smoke. If you can’t accept your friends decision you’re a shitty friend.

If you meet someone that doesn’t drink/smoke:

Don’t assume and/or say something that implies that they’re a stick in the mud and no fun. You can have fun without drinking/smoking

Lastly, just cause someone doesn’t drink/smoke doesn’t mean that they’re against other people doing it. Most people don’t care what you do in your life as long as you don’t try and shove it down other people’s throats.
