Life Lesson #1
It’s okay to cry while mucking horse stalls filled with mud, but only if you’re still working.
“Ok, so tomorrow’s lunch will be either Philly’s or Sake Cafe. Philly’s is really good, though. It’s kind of a greasy hole-in-the-wall, but it’s really good.“
Biggest damn lie I’ve ever been told...........................
I need to start being independent. The reason why I disappointed my mom really was because I chose to pass an application form with my friends. When we did, there were no more slots. I had the chance to do it earlier but I didn't. Now, the opportunity is lost and I have to wait a few months to pass the form. If I only had the courage, confidence to do it on my own, I'd probably end up with a slot. My mom hates it when I lose opportunities. Opportunity to attend a seminar. Opportunity to be interviewed for a job. Opportunity to earn money during spare time. Opportunity to intern. Even the opportunity to take a picture with a famous person or the opportunity to ride the freakin' bus. If I lose one opportunity, I'm a lazy person.
today was like a huge sigh of relief. when things get tough, just remember:
don't be afraid to ask for what you want. if you get a "no" response, well then fuck that, there's other things to move on to and focus on, always
if you're honest with someone, they will be honest with you. it's [usually] better to be honest and say what you really think than to keep holding things in. being able to talk something out is better than feeling like you have to keep a secret from someone
Most teens seem to be under the impression that at 18, they have to decide what they are going to do with the rest of their lives. I know, I was one of them. You feel like you have to decide your major as a freshman in college and that major will determine the rest of your life. Let me tell you something: You're wrong. While college is an important path to guide your future, it is not a be-all end-all. Halfway through college, you can decide to change your degree, even if that means it takes you an extra year. You can return to school at any point - even if it's just evening classes and it takes a while to get a new degree. You can wait a year or two after high school to start. Half of the people who graduate from college do not end up working in the field they studied. At any point in time, you can pick up and change course with your life. It may not be easy, but if you are determined, you can. Stop feeling pressured like this is cementing your entire future. It isn't. You're life is yours to live, and you can change your career path at any time if you are unsatisfied. And please stop saying things like "you won't let me [do something], but you expect me to decide my entire life at 18?!"
Life
You know that genric cliché "life works in mysterious ways" at this point i couldn't concur with it more. Recently i've been bear-witnessing my inadequate way of my perspective in life and i believe i conclusively came to my senses and contentedly accepted that everything does happens for a reason even if i don't have a viable verdict to why it's happening.. in the end of this lunatic yet phenomenal journey we call life there is a purpose for everything and that purpose is what's going to refine you. In my jubilant realization i concluded what i must undertake right now is just appreciate life to the fullest. i need to experience life and stop ponderously wondering "what if" and actually live a life of "oh wells" i'm not going to be 16 forever.. i need to savor life and genuinely satisfy my impractical aspirations and inclinations.
it's the choices you make in life make you who you are.
