why the nightmare instead of christmas is my favorite episode uploaded recently.

i was going to write something long and in-depth, going into why i enjoyed virgil’s storyline (arguably) the most, how much his character has grown and why i enjoyed how thomas, joan and crew reincorporated his story into today’s episode - and, heck, i may do that some time when i’ve stopped being so happy with this episode - but in the end, i just decided to share some thoughts that are floating haphazardly about my mind. apologies in advanced for the non-structure lol. 

so: if you follow me, or have seen me around, you may have noticed that i’ve not been very active lately. I think i posted something in november and then sorta just... didnt?? after that?? and that has a lot to do with how busy i was, and still am. but the other half was something arguably more vital: interest. 

my interest in sanders sides, thomas sanders, and this fandom were simply... dying? and it wasn’t the fault of anyone, really, that’s simply how it was. I still followed everyone i initially followed because i grew fond and attached to them, and in fact i even (tentatively?) befriended a good amount of them as well. i still love the people in this fandom a good amount, but there was a disconnect that wasn’t there before. 

and this episode just... brought it back. it made something spark in me that simply wasn’t sparking for the last two episodes. and good lord did i need that. stress, anxiety and drama were keeping me from enjoying much of anything, let alone investing in a fandom that i’d been absent from for weeks on end. and this episode, the topic, and the fandom’s response as been invigorating. 

also, i don’t think i’ve seen the ‘woobification’ of a character ever taken into account as a serious topic in, like, a long time. and while i’m personally fine and have occasionally partaken in the fandom coddling virgil and depicting him as a Softboy(tm) i’m sure it was a breath of fresh air for a l  ot of people- myself included. 

so thanks, thomas and crew. this was fucking amazing.

small update for those interested:

school is cancelled today and tomorrow due to the LITERAL FREEZING DEATH WEATHER we’re experiencing in the Midwest, so I may be able to actually finish that mythical!logan picture soon.

hey guys! as a head up, tumblr isn’t letting me receive messages. I’ve gotten notifications that say people have been messaging me, but when I open the chat, nothing is displayed. i’ve tried mobile and the site, and i’ve also uninstalled and reinstalled the app. it’s been happening for about a few weeks now (right around when i posted spider witch virgil, i think?) and it will occasionally work right before reverting again. so i don’t know what to do about it because @staff hasn’t gotten back to me about it. 

wanted to let y’all know because i don’t want you to think i’m ignoring you! tumblr is just murdering me t b h  .
