//OOC: The Bat Breaker

This is my big info dump on my Bane. I am the same mun as @/theeldr1tchwayne and @/g0thamknight (as well as a couple others)

This is how I portray Bane in the universe surrounding my OC

✨Trauma/Backstory✨: Eduardo Durance had been born in Hell disguised as a dirt walled prison in an unknown city in Mexico to serve out a life sentence he never earned. He fought and he fought hard to survive until one day a large breakout happened and a few other inmates dragged him along. Then he made his way to Gotham. That’s where he met Selina Kyle, a girl who would become the sister he never knew he needed and the mother of his world, and she took to him like a fish to water. They became inseparable as the months passed by. He was the distraction as she took what they needed. He was the muscle she was the brain though they were not a weapon and a master. They were siblings, equals, partners. When they weren’t doing anything Eduardo spent his time at the library, teaching himself to read and write in English, and learning about the city he now called home. Soon he was 19 and Selina was 15. He got into bodybuilding and found a community there and earning money an honest way. Saving up to get him and Selina a home that wasn’t some rundown, abandoned apartment. Selina began upping her heists to pay for their schooling. Together they grew. Together they stayed. Then suddenly they were 24 and 20. That’s when Selina met Bruce Wayne. He was all she could talk about meanwhile all Eduardo could think about was this opportunity he’d heard about. Clinical trials for an experimental medicine, the doctor had said, that would pay him handsomely to be a part of. Just after Selina’s 20th birthday Eduardo went to meet the doctor and that was when his life changed. No longer was he Eduardo Durrance. Now he was Bane. A living weapon sold to the highest bidder. The League of Assassins. He spent damn near six years with them. Once he’d finally gotten back to Gotham and found Selina again he’d seen a baby on her hip. A little girl with the signature Wayne blue eyes but her mama’s tan skin. The babe barely looked older than a year. Bane wrote to Selina as often as he could in the lucid moments between bouts of Venom induced rage. She wrote back on occasion. Always worried. Always asking him to come home. Now he was home and he’d do anything to help. Months passed as when he was himself he’d help with his niece, Blake as Selina had named her, and when the rage came he’d conquer Gotham’s underworld. It went like that for years. Then his little girl, his world, ran away to meet her father. She lived with him all but two weeks before she’d called him to pick her up. And he did. He dropped everything to go get her. It felt like a blink and then he was going to Arkham willingly for the first time because Blake, she must’ve been 22 by now, had an anti-venom that would mix with and stabilize the venom in his blood. It helped. He felt less rage from the venom now yet he hadn’t shrunk. Though he grew more proportionate. His figure turning more human than grotesque muscle.

does your bowser have a dark backstory/ past, or is he just a power hungry king?

No tragic backstory. He was never struck by misfortune or hardship, and on the contrary was exceedingly spoiled throughout his life. Always having everything offered to him on a silver platter, always using his royal status to impose control and take anything he ever wanted.

But-

His actions stem from more than just an obsession with power. My Bowser has all the riches a king could want. His dominion on his troops is absolute, his resources far-reaching and is privilege beyond belief... And yet. Deep down, he's devoured by bitterness and envy. He sees in his opponents something that he knows he will never have - righteousness, courage, selflessness, unity - and the subsequent emptiness left within at this notion is as ugly as it is miserable. His ruthlessness is very much fueled in part by a vain pursuit for power, but it's also a projection of his frustration and profound discontent.

He is stuck in a prison of his own making; chained by ego and pride, trapped in the pit of his own mind. He neither knows nor could ever admit it to himself, but he is his own worst enemy, and always will be.

What sort of character is daisy? Because in some of the headcanons ive seen, she seems a bit abrasive.

I personally see Daisy as being very strong headed, in every good and bad sense of the word!

Her boldness and exuberance are a blessing to those around her who lack the confidence and assertiveness to defend themselves or say what's really on their mind. Her subjects absolutely cherish her for the voice that she gives them on a higher political level, and her friends dearly value the fierce determination and surprising perceptiveness with which she's always ready to help.

...However. 🙇‍♀️

Those same traits also manifest through impulsiveness, aggression (ranging from mild to "hold still so I can punch your face"), a clear lack of tactfulness and a clumsy emotional approach to most things, which may and have caused her trouble more than once.

See, Daisy is a wonderful and very generous person with a heart of gold, but she is also flawed; the same way Peach is flawed in her own meek, repressed and polite way. 💫

About power ups being an extension of an aura of a person, how do power ups affect Luigi? In what ways would it be different to Mario?

Ooh that's a good question! 👀

I imagine Mario's power to be steady and deep, like a rumbling river or flowing magma. Strong, formidable and constant; halting in its sheer might and magnitude, but also reassuring in its calm regularity.

The way I see Luigi's power by comparison is more akin to a sudden gust of wind or volcanic eruption. Unpredictable and unforeseen, absolutely staggering in its suddenness and unleashed vehemence. Unsuspected before occurring, and undoubtedly fearsome once revealed.

There would be a stability to Mario's powers that wouldn't be present in Luigi's, but at their highest, Luigi's powers would be superior in both force and volume.

Rain and thunder. Two halves of a tempest. ⚡

ooh ooh can peach use power ups in your canon? what's her aura like? 🩷

She technically can, as I imagine all creatures in my version to be able to use those (even yoshis and toads!), but considering that the magic she already possesses is more potent than any power-up known in existence, there wouldn't really be a need for her to use any. :3

However, the aura projected by her healing power is easily the most distinctive and recognizable of all: a gentle, blossoming force that envelops and shields those around it like a blanket. If Mario is the downpour and Luigi the thunderclap, Peach is the ethereal mist and fresh vitality nourishing the soil. ⛈️🌱

At rest, their natural auras each give off a different type of warmth, and in training sessions or battle, the way they harness power-ups is also representative of their own unique traits. 💫

I see all of these Tanooki Mario asks and I love them all, but I raise you Kitsune Luigi : your thoughts on it ?

I must confess that I hesitated to give Luigi a different form in my version at first because I initially felt like the exception would be difficult to explain (the power-up being named the tanooki leaf after all). But then I considered the possibility of the term not designating this specific animal per say, but rather referring to the 'spirit' in a general sense, which I think could definitely work! 👀 And thus, while Mario and Peach's natural auras would both manifest as a tanuki, Luigi's animal spirit would take on the form of a kitsune instead; the same way someone else might transform into a bakeneko or kamaitachi. 💁‍♀️

Personally, I really like the thought of Luigi transforming into another creature entirely. It gives an air of mystery and hidden depth to his character; a visual confirmation that there's indeed something about him that is distinctly unique and beautiful in a way that is completely different from his brother or the princess. And it also makes total sense in my version since I headcanon Mario and Peach as having a very similar heart and temperament, whereas Luigi is a bit more of a wild card. 💚⚡

She's probably the sweetest and kindest version I've seen of the character, and I just love the way you portray her!

I view kindness as a very prominent trait of her character, and thus always try to project a soft and compassionate sense of sovereignty in the way she talks and behaves. 👑 It's a major part of what makes her a dignified and well loved monarch in my eyes, which is why this quality in particular is so important to me.

In my AU, the bros were never treated with proper respect when they still lived in Brooklyn, and I wanted the woman that my Mario falls deeply in love with to be the exact opposite of that. To be someone who not only sees his true worth and is awed by it, but shows extensive care and consideration towards him also. Who genuinely seeks his wellbeing and comfort, listens to what he has to say and values him for who he really is. ✨

So we all know Mario is fiercely protective of his sweetheart... does Peach display protectiveness over Mario? Does she ever use her powers to defend him?

Peach regards Mario as one would a priceless treasure. With a mix of open awe, heightened mindfulness and a twinge of secret yearning. Nothing makes her happier or more peaceful than knowing he is safe on the castle grounds, and everytime he leaves her side, she can't help the prickling sensation sending a shiver down her spine.

My version of Peach isn't inherently combative (much like Luigi, she doesn't have one hostile bone in her body 🥺), BUT- the very thought of Mario getting hurt is absolutely unbearable to her and she would do anything in her power to prevent it, including using her magic to shield him or intervene if she had the chance.

Most of all, she wants to be able to heal him and provide care whenever necessary. She wants to see him well and in good spirits always. She wants - needs - him to be alright, because he's her sunshine and she loves him so much it hurts. 💞🌅
