When it comes to DRG, its not that i find it lacking, its just....
So ive been personally putting together a mod for it, right? but right now im still just in the "conceptual" phase. The ideas i have so far for it are many, but ill stick to just a few for biomes, missions and classes. There are several new biomes i plan to add such as: Stillwater root swamp, Asteroid Belt, and Hoxxes Surface.
For missions i plan to add a PVP set of missions such as Point Control, Team Deathmatch, and Dwarves versus endless spawn waves.
And for classes ive added: a "medic" class, a Runemancer, and a "ERR" class.
i bring all these up because, to get to this point ive had to sit and think about what and how these could be added. Why would a "medic" be added to DRG? What would that class look like? What mobility aids and weapons would make it unique but still a kind of support class? and it's clear to me that DRG just sort of skips that first question?
because i can answer that for all my ideas i wish to add. The root swamp? Caves generally have pools of water in them, and the Hollow Bough and Dense biomes need to have gotten their water from somewhere to have grown to such a degree.
The PVP missions? well, im planning to add 5 more classes and a 5th player team slot, BUT the RIVAL company also exists, which means that theres more then just a few mining companies looking to clear out HOXXES and the solar system around it. So, theres probably going to be multiple times where you can interact and play versus other players, ntm the fact that GHOSTSHIPS has let that throughline fall to the wayside in favor of cosmetics and not even a handful of new creatures
and a "medic" class would probably look like something similar to a on-site Staff Sergeant, a walking Resupply POD. it would have an ability for something to support reviving people, probably by scaring the bugs away so you arent being attacked while you do it, and helping people get out of being surrounded by a mob of the swarm. It would probably be added so that storywise, Resupply Pods arent "wasted" by being called down and then not fully used and being left behind, in addition to the fact of the new team slot and PVP and biomes being added would be further cause.
all of them, easily answered. But why is the Ossuary added? Why is the Rockpox added? i know these and other things theyve added are cool ideas, but theyre also deadends. theyve not been expounded upon. Theyve not been upkept, and were clearly tossed to the wayside in favour of making another game that was supposed to have been the update and imo still should be, hell even as just a dlc.
