Jason barely kept himself from wincing at those words. He wasn't sure if it was because of what Percy said or it was because of the word 'disappointed'. The small blond boy met Percy's glare with a flat look, ignoring the painful throb going along the left side of his face.

     "I'm your friend, Jason, I'm always going to worry about you," Percy said, small hands curled into fists at his side as green eyes looked from flat blue ones to the vivid bruise against the pale skin. "I'm always going to--"

     "Then just stop worrying about me," The seven year old snapped, turning away from the other and this time he DID wince as the sharp pain flared from his ribs.

Biting his lip to keep the gasp from escaping, Jason didn't hear Percy move but flinched when the other touched his shoulder, gently getting him to sit down. The small boy wanted to cry, he hadn't wanted Percy to see him like this. When the other had asked him who'd hurt him, Jason had tried to shut him out with sharp barbs but Percy had argued. Loudly.

He flinched away from Percy's hand when he saw him reach for his swollen cheek, blue eyes warily staring at his hand, part of him expecting a slap for showing weakness.

     "It was Jupiter, wasn't it?"

The boy felt his throat dry up and kept his mouth firmly shut and shook his head. He saw the dark scowl take over Percy's face and averted his gaze. Instead of saying anything, Percy went to grab the first aid kit that they kept in their rooms, Jason watched him from the corner of his eye and he tried not to think too much on how his best friend was going to react to the rest of the bruises from today's lesson.

They both remained remained quiet as Jason hesitantly let Percy check on his bruises and cuts, the tension rising when Percy finally got him to take his shirt off. He wouldn't forget the murderous look that the older boy wore as he looked over the dark bruises along Jason's ribs and arms. 

     "I hate him." Was all Percy said as he finished wrapping the bandages around Jason's ribs.

Jason hates him too.

               sitting at the foot of percy’s cabin bed may not have been the most subtle approach ever, but that’s what happens when one miscalculates the dailyght hours. it may’ve been morning in italy, but she may or may not have forgotten about the time difference separating roma and long island. ( that’s how she ended up here, her luminescent glow illuminating the cabin’s walls. ) it’s a relief when he finally wakes, greeted by a slight smile from  hades’ daughter. “ long time no see, percy. didn’t know you were that much of a heavy sleeper. ”

They were worried about him. Jason had managed, somehow, to keep himself together since Leo-- But lately it's gotten harder to keep it from showing on his face when he's around the others. He knew this since he'd spot the glances thrown his way by Hazel and Frank, Piper would try talking to him and Annabeth would bring up some ideas for their home. Percy, on the other hand...

     "It's like you're giving up."

Jason couldn't help but wince at the sharp tone and Percy's words, but instead of answering back he just kept cleaning his handgun with mechanical movements. He didn't look up towards Percy, but he heard when the other took a few long strides until he was seating himself across from Jason at the table, chair creaking slightly.

Both of them stayed like this for a minute, Jason methodically cleaning each piece of his gun while Percy watched him. Just a minute.

     "Jason, look at me," Percy said, arms folded on top of the table as he leaned forward slightly. A deep frown marred his features when the blond didn't stop and wouldn't look at him. "Jason, stop."

Green eyes narrowed when Jason just ignored him, temper flaring he reached across the table and slapped his hand over Jason's and the gun's barrel. Finally, Jason did look up at the other, blue eyes locking on to green and he knew Percy would see just how run down he was. He'd be able to see it in the dark smudges under his eyes, his lost expression and Percy would be able to feel how much his hands were shaking.

It was Jason's turn to narrow his eyes at Percy when he didn't say anything and just....stared.

     "If you're not going to say anything then I'd appreciate it if you'd--" The blond began, words laced with irritation.

     "Don't you fucking DARE start that shit with me, Jason," Percy cut through, standing up fast enough to knock his chair over that made Jason flinch, an angry glare directed at him. "I am your friend. Don't try to push me away."

He recoiled like he'd been hit and Jason felt guilty as he averted his eyes away from the other. Percy had reacted similarly the first time he'd acted like this back when they still lived in the QZ.

     "Leo wouldn't want you being like this."

     "Shut up."

     "Do you think this would be what he wants?" Why won't he stop?

     "Stop."

     "For you to just shut down and act like an asshole?" Percy continued.

Angry blue eyes glared up at him from where Jason was still seated, grease covered hands gripped the edge of the table tightly. Percy didn't back down but his expression softened instead.

     "Jason, it wasn't your fault--" Barely finishing that sentence, the teen was jumping back when the blond slammed his fists against the table, rattling the weapon's parts as he stood up and the chair fell back.

     "Of course it's my fault! It's MY FAULT that we were on that bridge in the first place! I wasn't fast enough," Jason shouted, voice cracking at the last word. Fuck, his eyes were watering and he would NOT cry now. "I was too scared of the goddamn water to jump in and save him. To even try. So it's my fault..."

Covering his mouth with the back of his hand, Jason's shoulders hunched forward as he closed his eyes and tried not to cry. But now all he could see was Leo's terrified face as the section of the bridge gave and he fell. He could see it so clearly even though it's been two weeks, but it of course it would stick when he saw it each time he fell asleep or let himself think about it. A choked sob ripped through him and his body shook with the effort to keep himself from letting anything else out.

Strong arms came around him and Jason flinched at the contact, trying to pull away but Percy held him in place as he hugged him close.

     "It's not your fault," Percy told him, his hold tightening when Jason started to protest again and repeated it again more firmly. "It's not your fault, Jason."

He cried. Gripping the back of Percy's shirt, Jason cried for the first time since Leo fell and couldn't stop himself if he tried. He could hear Percy murmuring soft words of comfort, a hand rubbing at his back as Jason buried his face into the crook of his neck as sobs shook him. God, he missed Leo so much.

     "You can't let yourself go down like this, Jason, don't give up," He heard Percy say after some time, how long the teen wasn't sure. "Leo wouldn't want you to, you know that."

Jason made a wounded sound when Percy pulled him away so that he could see his face.

     "No matter what, you keep finding something to fight for. Got it? You still have us."

The blond stared at Percy with red rimmed eyes for moment before he was hugging his friend tightly, shoulders shaking with barely contained sobs.

character in general: percy jackson is one of my favorite character from any novel series. i grew up with him. i watched him grow from a scared little boy, into a hero! his journey taught me. his stories makes me explode with joy! i just… i can’t get enough, even if he says “WHY?”how they play them: AGWIBEIWPUB THEY ARE PERCY. she understands percy. she captures percy’s soul & puts in this amazing writing that just sets my soul on fire! i don’t think i need to put more than that because it’s just enough to proof of her epicness. the mun: EMBER is my bae! i love her. she loves me. so what’s the issue?! like i love talking ooc wise. & i love destroying her with feels. it just makes me soooo happy when our muses interact & forget talking on skype. we just send each other love & smooches to no end.
