Hey guys, I haven’t posted one of these in a while but I thought I might as well...

This is me. I’m a massive swiftie and I also have something called Perthes Disease or Legg-Calvé-Perthes Disease.

Perthes disease is a childhood disease which causes blood to stop flowing to the bones in your hip. Without a proper blood supply the bones start to die and crumble away.

This meant that from the ages of 4 to 7 I was pretty much wheelchair bound as too much walking and moving would make my hip bones crumble faster. I had physiotherapy and hydrotherapy every week to prevent muscle wastage, and X-rays and consultant check ups every other week.

When I was 7 I had an operation to rebuild my hip. Although this meant that I could walk without crutches or a cane, the loss of bone tissue caused my left leg to be about 2 inches shorter than my right.

I can do most day to day tasks easily, but the difference means that I walk with a noticeable limp (even with my super sexy orthotic shoes). The loss of bone tissue has also led to a curvature in my spine and early signs of arthritis in my spine and hip, meaning I’ll have to have a hip replacement in my thirties

I just remembered that one time in elementary school where I asked to go to the nurse and my teacher refused because I "tried to get out of class at least once a week." Ma'am I was a disabled 9 year old let me go take some meds.
