❛ Sorry. Didn’t want to push any sore spots. ❜
Concern - accepting
“No, no--...you’re fine.”
Tawnie reassures, albeit poorly; voice nothing but a mere murmur when falling from tongue. Botanist provided comfort, warmth, a body to lean on as weakness overcomes avian, and he’s unsure if ever could Thumbelina do wrong within his presence. Yet, for once, he doesn’t want to speak--he wants to relinquish himself to nothing more than silence, the ache harbored in his chest overbearing, yet the exhaustion in his head left nothing to act upon.
“I just...don’t know what to say right now.”
Counselor admits, ashamed for how numb he felt--that he didn’t have anything to say, nor feel; that he was doing the very thing he often told others to avoid. It was healthy to be vulnerable, to share your thoughts with others, and allow one a moment of reprieve, to drop their walls and feel.
He finds that those pieces can’t be picked up. Not yet. And though he cannot speak the thoughts in his head, nor allow the sorrow hidden in his heart to escape, he leans upon Peach for comfort; dark eyes forcing themselves closed, and Tawnie taking if only a brief moment to breathe.
