Fleeing has become quite the commodity as of late.” He pauses. Reminiscing on his own dreams of freedom that seemed fuzzy at the edges—hard to remember. “Would you trade all your problems for different—simpler ones? Hardly seems a difficult choice.”

no one really wanted to have to deal with difficult things and if it were possible to simply switch your issues out with different, less complicated ones who wouldn't jump at the chance ? there was a pause before she once more typed on her scroll, electronic voice reading the words out for the other to hear.

" running away from things that are too complicated or too frightening to solve is human nature i think. but you can't outrun them forever- eventually those problems will become something you have to deal with, regardless of your desire to continue running from them. you can't outpace them forever. "

try as hard as one might, as far as one might run.

There was a myriad of problems he could list. From benign, like his favorite coffee place getting his order wrong. To the horrible dread of his future prospects being limited to the overarching reach of his father, pushing him along a path he otherwise wouldn't have chosen...or so he liked to tell himself he would have chosen better, different. Liked to believe himself superior in anyway, delusional as the thought was.

This may have been too much to unload on someone.

"When my butlers away, my tea is absolutely dreadful." Came his reply, opting for something safe. Expected of his station, a boy with not a care in the world beyond his own whims as it were presented.
