The A-Team by Mike Post (written by Mike Post and Pete Carpenter). UK 7" single picture sleeve from 1983. I pity the fool who thought they were going to get the theme we were used to hearing on our television sets. Sadly it was a re-recording and didn't have any of the military styling of the TV version.

While growing up my sister would tease me on my wanting to watch the TV show, Wonder Woman. "You just want to see Linda Carter run around in that outfit.", she would say. Which, I admit, was true. Looking back I don't remember much of the show other than Linda spinning around and turning into Wonder Woman (after that my brain pretty much stopped functioning).
I do however remember the show Magnum, p.i. and I most certainly remember my sister REALLY wanting to watch because of Tom Selleck. Instead of teasing her, I took the high road and gave her a nice big Tom Selleck poster for her room as a Christmas present. She had it on her closet door for years.
As for the show, I liked it. Magnum's lifestyle seemed ideal. Living in Hawaii, driving around in a bright red Ferrai 308 GTS, and solving crimes with the help of his Vietnam war buddies. For me the best part was Magnum's interaction with Higgins the caretaker of the estate that Magnum was "allowed" to say at. Higgins serious "by the book" attitude would clash with Magnum's carefreeness and thus many hilarious scenes would ensue.
As for the music it is action packed of course but there is an underling tone of playfulness about it, which fits the personality of Tomas Magnum. Oh and yep this is ANOTHER theme written by Mike Post and Pete Carpenter. What is with these guys?
