DISHING OUT THE FILTH IN THE TRUEST SENSE OF THE WORD -- PURE, ABSOLUTE CRUSTGRIND .
PIC INFO: Spotlight on a very young Pete Nash, former bassist in UK hardcore/crust punk bands bands DOOM, EXTREME NOISE TERROR, CAIN, and guitarist for FILTHKICK, c. late 1980s. 📸: Kieran Mower (🎤 for veterans CHAOS UK).
OLD MAN'S METTLE: "What on Earth did your mum think of those crusty trousers?"
PETE: "I don’t know what she thought about it, I never asked. I was quite lucky in that respect as I had a lot freedom. She was too tired from working all day to worry too much about it."
OMM: "You played in EXTREME NOISE TERROR and FILTHKICK for a while. How did that all go?"
PETE: "O.k. … Ha. I enjoyed them both. With ENT, Stick asked me if I wanted to join them and I couldn’t believe it. For a long time, they were my favourite band, so when I was asked, I was "stoked." I had to learn all the songs in about a week or two; listening to tapes of their songs in my bedroom. I learnt them all and got to the first practice and either my tuning was wrong or they’d changed it and I had to learn them all over again! Doss! Then, Phil left, which I was really gutted about. Phil and Dean are E.N.T and so it did not feel like the real E.N.T. I enjoyed doing the split album with them, but we had not been together long enough to gel and for me it was their weakest album."
