Younger S5 thoughts

Does anyone watch Younger or am I shouting into the void here?

After watching all the promo material coming out the last couple of weeks here are my thoughts/hopes for season 5

The Secret

Charles has to find out this season right?

I’m betting it’s the big game changer at the end of the first episode, but also that seems super easy and I really want this show to be better than that. Then again they got v lazy with plot last season so I’m kinda not holding my breathe.

Liza might not be the one to tell him though.

I still think Diana has known the whole time the only think she’ll be pissed about is Charles.

If Charles doesn’t find out at the beginning of the season it’ll be about halfway through. After he and Liza have been fooling around a bit.

Charles will not take finding out well either way.

Charles/Liza

Soooooo I was v committed to Team Charles originally, but now I’m not so sure?

Like the end of S4 kind of raised some big flags for me

The way Charles totally shuts down when Liza says she thinks they should focus on Marriage Vacation instead of their relationship was worrisome. Especially because what he seems to bristle at the most is her putting her career before their (at this point nonexistent) relationship. Which is also a theme in Pauline’s book.

And going back even further, the S3 opener, Charles seems just a little too smittened by the fact that Liza is 26 “but wise beyond her years”

Idk. I didn’t expect to be skeptical but I am.

That said I think there’s a lot of Liza/Charles angst coming our way.

Once he finds out he’s going to be conflicted about his feelings for Liza and feeling betrayed (the “how did I not see this” and “I can’t stop thinking about her” seems to be the same scene. Which leads me to believe his lawyer friend who is also Caitlin’s roommate’s dad is the imputus for the reveal? Idk.) and the implications for Millennial. And we all know Charles doesn’t handle conflicting emotions well.

And then there will be some secret emotionally conflicted sex

I’ve dubbed the beard the beard of dispair. And I’m pumped for it.

At some point in all of this angst I think Liza writes a book.

Other thoughts

Very excited for Lauren and Diana to meet

And Maggie and Diana

Unclear about what they’re going to do with Josh this season

And need more Redmond in my life!

Will Liza ever get divorced?

I probably have other thoughts that I’m not remembering right now. I’ll add to this.
