summary: where aunt may almost catches peter and y/n mid make-out session
a/n: based on a tiktok that i saw a while ago (unfortunately the person deleted their account so i can't link the video anymore), hope you enjoy! <3
warnings: suggestive content
universe: marvel
Your fingernails leave light reddish scratch marks on Peter's soft skin, your hands slowly sliding from his back to his biceps. His hands are wrapped tightly around your waist as he kisses you passionately, gently pressing you deeper into the pillows of his bed. Lovingly, he nibbles on your lower lip, making you giggle, before his kisses move from your flushed lips to your neck. You bury your hands in his soft, now slightly messy brown locks and close your eyes, enjoying how he savours every inch of your skin.
His kisses send shivers down your spine and his ragged breathing against your neck gives you goosebumps. In fact, you could lie here all day long and just enjoy each and every single one of his tender touches, be it with his hands or his lips.
Unfortunately, you are not allowed to enjoy this moment much longer because Peter suddenly jumps up in surprise, his spider senses apparently striking, leaving you baffled.
"Oh shit."
You can't read the look on his face to get an idea of what's happening, but you don't have to because you can clearly hear the door to the apartment unlocking and opening in the next moment, his aunt coming in.
"Peter? I'm back!"
You look at each other in silence for a few seconds, your eyes wide, holding your breath. Then, all of a sudden, you free yourself from each other's grip, Peter almost tumbling off the bed in an attempt to stand up as silently as possible.
"What is your aunt doing here?! You said she wouldn't be back until this evening!", you hiss at him under your breath, getting up from his bed while pulling down your shirt, which has ridden up due to your rough make-out session.
"She shouldn't be back already!", Peter whisper-yells back, looking around his room, desperately searching for help. There really aren't many places for you to hide here. His closet is full of piles of clothes and his room is over all pretty cluttered. Not that it usually bothers you, but it is pretty inconvenient right now.
Because his aunt doesn't know about the two of you and you don't intend on her to find out. Especially not like this.
Once she knows, your father will know, and that is going to be a problem.
"Peter? Are you here?", May calls out through the apartment and when you hear footsteps approaching, Peter gently grabs your arms and frantically helps you hide under his bed. May opens the door just as Peter quickly drapes the blanket over the edge of the bed so that you are hidden. Quickly, you hold your breath and hope she can't hear your fast beating heart.
"M-May. What... Uhm, what are you doing here? Already?", Peter chuckles nervously, trying to act as innocent as possible while trying to cover his bare upper body with his arms. May's eyes narrow as she looks at him suspiciously. Her eyes wander around the room, sensing that something is off.
"Why are you not wearing a shirt?", she asks him, her brows furrowed. Peter opens his mouth, but because he has no idea what to say to explain himself, he closes it again. Then he opens it once more, but again can't think of a good excuse.
"You know what? I don't even want to know", she shakes her head, waving a towel around that she must have picked up from the kitchen on her way to his room. "Make sure you put something on though. Something presentable, preferably."
"S-Sure. Why, exactly?", Peter asks with uncertainty in his voice, shuffling to the right to pick up his shirt which was carelessly thrown onto the floor. While doing so, he makes sure that he's still right in front of the bed where you are trying to be as silent as possible. In one quick, smooth movement, Peter pulls his shirt over his head, hiding the obvious clues of what was happening in this room mere seconds ago.
"I invited the Starks for dinner."
"What?", you mumble under your breath at the same time as Peter says it out loud.
"Not quite the reaction I expected, to be honest", May chuckles, pulling a claw clip out of her hair so that her long brown hair falls over her shoulders. "You enjoyed your internship at Stark Industries with Mr. Stark so much and I thought I would be doing you a favour. His wife and daughter will be here, too. And that cute chief of security, Happy was his name?"
"Eww, May!", Peter turns away from her with disgust, shuddering at the thought that his aunt has a thing for Happy out of all people. Nevertheless, his gaze shortly wanders to the framed certificate on the wall that testifies his successful work with the Stark Industries Internship Program. Thank God Aunt May doesn't know that he actually flew to Germany and was involved in a conflict between the Avengers during this so-called 'internship'.
Even though you can't see his aunt from your - extremely uncomfortable - position under the bed, you can literally hear her roll her eyes.
"Do me a favour", she then proceeds, combing her fingers through her hair. "Be sweet to Y/N. She kinda has a crush on you."
Your whole face flushes at once and you almost start coughing, choking on air you inhaled too abruptly, but instead you cover your mouth with your hand.
"Really?", Peter asks with such feigned disbelief that it's extremely suspicious. His voice perfectly captures the satisfaction he's feeling right now and you just know that he currently has that smug smile on his face that you ever so often would like to wipe off.
"I had no idea", he adds to your misery, chuckling a bit under his breath.
"Of course you didn't. Boys never do", May announces with a laugh, teasing her nephew before finally leaving the room and closing the door shut behind her. Her footsteps move away and once he's sure the situation is safe, Peter immediately bursts into a fit of laughter.
"Shut up!", you say angrily and punch the bed from underneath to make him stop laughing. You sigh in defeat when he doesn't. You'd love nothing more than to stay under his mattress forever and never look at him again because everything about this situation is incredibly awkward and makes you want to disappear into thin air.
Peter's laughing face appears in front of you as he kneels down and pushes aside the blanket. The moment he sees you, an emotion darts across his face that you can't quite place, but it certainly has something to do with the intense blush on your cheeks.
"Didn't know you had a crush on me", he mocks you with a wink, trying his best to contain his laughter, and reaches for your hands to help you out.
"Didn't know you were such an idiot", you counter and can't help but let out a soft giggle from the cramped space underneath the bed before you let him free you.
As soon as you're standing upright again, you playfully punch him in the chest and adjust your top, which has slipped from all the action. It only takes him three seconds to pull you towards him by the wrist and kiss you hard, your face in his hands. You sink into him.
"No, but seriously, when did you develop this crush on me? I'd love to know", he murmurs against your lips with a smile, which only earns him a groan from your side. "If Aunt May knew what we did before-"
"I suppose we don't want neither her nor my parents to find out about us like this, so I suggest I get going", you interrupt him, placing your hands on his firm chest to push him away from you. Which is pretty hard since he doesn't want to let go of you just yet.
"I'm sure you'll look stunning at dinner", Peter smirks, his hands riding up your hips to lift up your shirt again. Immediately, you swat his hands away and turn to the window.
"Behave yourself", you roll your eyes with a smile, knowing full well he adores you in any piece of clothing. Or none.
Peter helps you open up the window, the soundscape of New York immediately entering the room. He steadies you while helping you out the window and then wraps his hands tightly around your waist before using one of his webs to gently lower the both of you into the alley outside his window.
Something you're very practiced in with the amount of times you had to sneak out of his room in the middle of the night.
"See you later, Spidey", you say and move to kiss his cheek, but he immediately goes for the full kiss, seemingly not getting enough of you. "And don't embarrass me again."
"I wouldn't think of it!", he answers in shock, as if it isn't something he absolutely loves to do, just to see your adorable reaction to it. You shake your head, smiling and waving as you walk to the main street.
"We still need to finish this!", Peter calls after you and sends another wave of heat to your head, your heart beating faster.
That's what having a crush on Peter Parker does to someone.
Summary: Carving a Jack-o'-lantern with Peter for the first time, which doesn’t exactly go as planned.
—————————————————————————————————
Peter felt it before he heard you.
Pain.
It was dull and faded as quickly as it came but it was there, a slight tingle under his skin, which could only really mean one thing.
It was you.
His spidey sense only really got like this when you needed help. It felt different, more intense somehow.
So, before he’d even had a chance to realize what was going on or to put any thought at all into what it could have been, Peter shot up, turning to find that the space normally occupied by you in his bed was empty.
Which, coupled with the panic pricking at the corners of all of his senses, was more than enough to worry him.
Under any normal circumstances, it might not have been that big of a deal. There were plenty of innocent explanations for something like that, but the two of you didn’t exactly live under normal circumstances.
You lived in a world where nothing was certain, and nothing was safe.
So, as soon as he heard that crashing and clamoring coming from the kitchen once again, he was off. It didn’t matter what was going on or where you were, he wasn’t going to rest until he figured it out.
He couldn’t help it.
Peter was already a bit touchy where you were concerned, but this morning, his mind was racing, cooking up several haunting scenarios that all ended in you being maimed and murdered.
His steps were careful and quiet as he rounded the corner from his bedroom until he found you in the kitchen, his focus set on the sound of your heartbeat as he tried to plan his next move.
Your breath was even, all things considered, but your pulse was quicker than he would have liked.
It wasn’t until he heard a muffled curse from you that he dropped his guard and emerged from his hiding place, finally blinking the sleep out of his eyes.
“Y/N?” he called, pretty confident now that you were alone. If someone else were here, he would have been able to hear them or sense them in some capacity by this point.
Because sometimes superpowers were awesome.
Not that your being alone in any way explained what you were doing this early in the morning, or why you were bleeding.
The answer to which wasn’t anywhere near what he was expecting, on either count.
You sighed at the sound of his voice, disappointed in yourself for waking him up. You had been trying to get this done before the sun came up, as a surprise, but obviously, it wasn’t going to work now.
Stupid pumpkin.
“I’m here”
Peter could hear how defeated you sounded from where he was, but it wasn’t until he switched on the overhead light that he understood why.
You were sitting there, in the center of the kitchen floor, with a pumpkin resting between your thighs.
For some reason.
He didn’t even bother to keep the laughter that bubbled up in his throat at bay because it was so ridiculous.
You had to be kidding.
“What are you doing?” he muttered, taking in the sight in front of him with a mild, albeit sleepy, gleam in his eyes.
He had just woken up, after all.
“I wanted to carve this stupid pumpkin for you, but it’s not as easy as I thought it would be,” you explained, gesturing to the large orange pumpkin which was laying in a lake of its own guts and seeds.
It always seemed so easy, but now that you were attempting the seasonal craft for yourself, you realized you couldn’t have been more wrong.
This was impossible.
“And, what happened there?” Peter wondered, recalling the initial reason for his waking when he noticed a thin line of crimson red blood, actively dripping down from your palm onto your wrist.
It instantly set those same alarms off in his head as the man you loved crossed the room to inspect the wound, more for himself than anything.
He had to make sure you were okay before even acknowledging the rest of it.
“I slipped and cut myself” you shrugged, letting him paw at you as he saw fit until he was content that you would be okay.
The cut didn’t look too deep, or dangerous in any way, but that didn’t mean it hadn’t hurt.
He was sure it hurt.
There was silence between you for a moment as Peter busied himself cleaning up the cut as best he could with the corner of his tee shirt, which would surely be ruined after this point.
Not that he even seemed to mind.
“How did you manage to cut your hand carving a pumpkin?” he wondered, what felt like forever, that familiar embarrassment returning to you all at once.
This was what you got for dating an Avenger.
“I slipped,” you repeated, turning the gourd in your lap until he could see the face you’d begun to carve into it.
So far, you had managed to get one triangular eye mapped out, along with a small square nose, which was initially supposed to be another triangular.
You’d had to improve after narrowly cutting the tip of your pointer finger off.
“This whole thing’s a bit more technical than I thought”
Peter laughed at that, this time letting himself get caught up in just how much he loved you. Of all the things that could have woken him up today, this was probably one of the most endearing.
…and random.
“Don’t laugh. I just wanted to be festive” you pouted, finally setting the knife down in defeat. Whatever it was you created this morning, it certainly didn’t look like any jack-o-lantern you’d ever seen.
Still, Peter didn’t make fun of you.
The end result of your effort was hilarious, but the care you’d put into it was real and it was obvious this mattered to you, so he wanted to help.
“I’m not laughing at you” Spiderman assured, that same gentle grin permanently affixed to his face that completely contradicted his point.
He couldn’t help it.
You were just so cute.
“Forget it. We don’t need a pumpkin anyway” you sighed again, a real frustration taking over now. You had really put everything you had into this, and having it go south so quickly had really put a damper on your mood.
Thankfully, Peter wasn’t quite as easily discouraged as you were when it came to these things, mostly because he didn’t get to be.
He had to be Spiderman, and that had changed quite a bit about him in everyday life too.
This wasn’t life or death for him like some of the things in his life were, and he didn’t have to put pressure on himself for it to be perfect.
“I’ll tell you what…why don’t we get some breakfast, and get that cleaned up?” he suggested, vaguely gesturing to your hand until you gave it over so he could press a kiss to your knuckles.
Then, before you could argue further, he hummed, filling the silence just enough to let you know he wasn’t finished.
He knew you well enough to know that you weren’t just going to accept that.
“After that, we can figure this out together”
~
After breakfast had been eaten and Peter had actually gotten a chance to wake up, you two finally sat down with pumpkins in mind.
You were going to do this.
Even if it took all day.
“So, have you ever done this?” you questioned, sitting down with your partially mutilated pumpkin and a clean kitchen knife, along with a purple patterned bandage, courtesy of the man you loved.
The last thing he wanted was for you to cut yourself again, especially not for a seasonal craft.
Peter grinned, thinking about all the Halloweens he’d celebrated thus far, and all the happy memories he had.
Memories that had never included carving a jack-o-lantern like this one, “Like this? No, but how hard can it be?”
“I don’t know, but usually when you ask that something bad happens” you shrugged, doing some recalling of your own, back to all the times you were talking about.
Your boyfriend laughed, rolling his eyes as he thought it over. You had a point this time, but this time, it wasn’t that serious.
All the damage that could have been done already had been.
“I’m pretty sure we can handle this, babe” Peter assured, confident that no matter what, this wasn’t a monumental task and even if it was, you could figure it out together.
How hard could it be?
“So, what do you want to do first?”
There was silence from him for a split second as your partner twirled the pen in his hand around a few times, considering what he wanted to do with what you’d given him.
It was still a pretty blank canvas, and if anything, you’d given him more room to make something that was just a touch creepy.
It was going to be so cool.
“I think you take this marker and draw a face on him, so we don’t just stab without any direction” he allowed, unscrewing the cap and handing it over to you so that you could outline a comical doodle on the face of the pumpkin.
Peter had only watched Aunt May do this once or twice as a kid, but it seemed simple enough, especially considering all the things you two had done together thus far.
It should be simple, and it was.
All you had to do was do it together.
“What do you think? Like this?” you hummed, both you and Peter cocking your heads to the side just to survey your work from another angle.
It was pretty good.
Really good.
“That’s perfect, just like you” came your boyfriend’s confident reply, a gentle peck falling on the side of your face.
He loved you so damn much.
“Then, I think we just carve the inside of the shapes out” he continued, watching as you plucked the knife off the floor and set off on a mission to do just that, only for Peter to intercept you at the last second.
“I think I’ll do this part if you don’t mind”
It briefly crossed your mind to argue with this whole thing being a surprise and all, but after giving it another second thought, you realized what he must have been thinking and nodded.
There were only so many things one person could handle this early in the morning.
Besides, if he cut himself doing this like this, it would heal far quicker than it would for you.
You grinned, that same smile on your face that you hadn’t been able to push down since you came up with this idea in the first place.
It was just so seasonal and fun.
Peter was quiet as he focused, his attention mostly poised on the task at hand as he removed chunks and slivers of rind until finally, it was done.
Once he’d decided it was exactly what he wanted, the man in question showed off his craftsmanship with a wide grin to match your own.
It would be a lie to say that he didn’t get why people did this.
It was fun.
In fact, Peter was sure that this was, by far, the best idea you had ever had.
You hummed in approval, you should have known his steady hands would lend themselves well to a task like this. “Just like that, I believe we carved our very own pumpkin”
“Now, all that’s left to do is find some candles and set it outside” Peter decided, immediately getting up to find where the two of you had left the candles last.
All of this was for nothing if you couldn’t put it out on display for the neighborhood.
So, that’s exactly what you did.
Ignoring the cold chill of the biting fall air, you and Peter huddled around your pumpkin on the porch, watching as the candle he’d lit within it danced under the influence of the wind.
It was perfect.
The edges were a little crooked and one of the eyes was a little smaller than the other but considering how it came to be like that, you wouldn’t have had it any other way.
“What do you think?” he hummed, reaching out to take your hand in his own as he admired the work you’d done together.
It was pretty cute.
You giggled, swinging your hands between you, “I think that I have the greatest boyfriend there’s ever been”
“So, I’m curious, why didn’t you just get me up before you started opening it up?” Peter wondered, wrapping you up in his arms mindlessly from where he stood, and pulling you into his body.
It was so goofy.
You knew that now, seeing how it went, but you also knew that he wasn’t going to make fun of you for this.
In all the years that you’d known him, Peter had never made fun of you for anything.
“I thought it would be a cute surprise”
At your admission, Peter just shrugged again, recalling all the slamming and banging that had met him as soon as he opened his eyes “I don’t know. You weren’t exactly quiet”
He had a point there.
Not that you’d ever admit that to him now.
“In my defense, I really didn’t think you’d wake up” you laughed, well aware of the exact reason you’d made the decision you had.
Peter had always been notoriously hard to wake up.
For as long as you’d known him.
Even given what you’d all taken to calling his spidey sense, he slept like a rock and it was hard to rouse him from that. Though, clearly, relying on that this morning had been a mistake.
“Well, next time, why don’t we just sleep in and learn new things together” he grinned, wiping away a bit of pumpkin that had somehow ended up on your chin at some point during the whole exchange.
Summary: Enemies to Friends to Lovers Roommates AU where Peter realizes his feelings for his spit fire roommate as Spider-man <3 based off of the song body bag by chloe moriondo
Author’s Note: This is going to be either two or three parts because it’s too damn long to be a stand alone fic since I’m a wordy bitch. This is an AU of sorts. It takes place in 2022 but Peter and MC are grad students (23, 24, 25, etc) and petergwen never happened. kk enjoy!
Peter had woken up to you slamming your bedroom door shut. He groaned into his pillow and willed you to go away and stay quiet. You had graciously woken him up from his post-patrol slumber. Through the thin wall that you shared, he hears you throw something across the room and it lands with a loud crash. Your scream of frustration is muffled through the wall and your bed knocks against the wall.
Of course something happened. Something always happens to you and you always have to make a show of it. Peter knows that the last thing you want is for him to check in on you. He hasn’t been the best roommate and hasn’t been the kindest to you since he moved in in the fall. You don’t get along and the last thing you probably wanted was for him to check to see if you were okay. The part of him that’s Spider-man wants to make sure that you’re okay, even if you don’t get along with Peter Parker. Peter groans again, before kicking off his sheets and climbing out of bed.
He's careful to knock quietly on the door. He hears you shuffle inside. “Go away, Peter!” you shouted through the door. Peter has to bite down hard on his tongue to stop himself from saying something to make your sour mood even worse. You’re obviously upset and want to be left alone. The last thing you want is for Peter to ask if you’re okay. It’s not like you’re friends to begin with anyways. You can’t stand each other, which is why he’s shocked that you’re home at this time of day. You’re usually working at the office you intern at during this time after your classes.
He walks away and returns to his room. This time he doesn’t hide his distain for you. He slams the door over the soft sounds of your cries.
The next time Peter sees you, he’s out on patrol as the friendly neighborhood Spider-man. He had heard over the dispatch that there was an armed robber on the loose near the bars you tended to frequent with your friends.
“C’mon, my guy, I have had the worst week in my entire life. I have nothing to give you, I’m just as broke as you are, I just don’t resort to armed robbery,” you were most definitely drunk. Your words were slurred and blurred together. Peter has half a mind to yell at you as himself, but another part of him is slightly impressed that you’re not shaking in fear.
Peter swoops in and webs the robber’s weapon out of reach and pins him to the nearest wall. “Are you crazy?” Peter shouted at you as he takes care of the criminal. “Why are you mouthing off to an armed robber?!”
You can’t help but giggle in your drunken stupor. You snort. “You sound like my roommate. Y/n, don’t do this, don’t do that. What are you, my dad?”
Peter goes rigged. If only you knew you were actually talking to him. “Where are your friends? Why are you walking home alone drunk? Do you know how dangerous that is? What if I hadn’t been here?”
You groan loudly and push past him in the direction towards your apartment. “Do you always interrogate the people you save, Spidey?”
He stomps after you and walks ahead of you to get you to stop walking. You make him want to pull out his hair, Spider-man or Peter Parker, you drive him nuts. He could shake you right now. “I just saved your life!” he shouted at you.
You roll your eyes and with a huff meet his masked gaze. “Thank you for saving me, Spider-ling.”
“It’s Spider-man.”
“Whatever you say, Spider-boy.”
Peter can’t help but grab at his head. He curses under his breath and you quickly stumble around him in a weak attempt to walk away from him. Your foot catches on the sidewalk and you don’t have time to catch yourself mid fall. Instead, you feel a set of strong hands grasp around your waist and pull you back on your feet.
“Nice catch, Bug-boy. Thanks.”
Peter huffs and shakes his head at you. “Where do you live? I’ll take you home.”
Your drunken cackle reaches his ears and your brows pinch together as you stare at where his eyes are behind the mask. “Since when do you service the people you save from armed robbers? I don’t live too far from here, I can get there on my own.”
“You tried that earlier and were mouthing off to an armed robber. Let me take you home.”
“If I puke on your suit, it’s your fault.”
“We’re walking.”
You scoff at him and resume the walk towards your apartment. “It was worth a shot,” you grumbled.
The walk back home didn’t last long. The more you walked, the more you struggled to keep your wits about you. In the moment, you hadn’t considered the consequences of your actions. You would’ve been killed over a $20 bill and maybe a few Target gift cards. Was your life really worth that little?
Spider-man didn’t talk the whole walk to your apartment. He was too busy keeping you steady and fighting the urge the scream at you for your ridiculous behavior during and after he saved you. You should’ve been the least bit grateful that he saved your life, but maybe some part of you knows that Peter is Spider-man, but he highly doubts it.
Your head spins and you pull out of his grasp when you’re at the front door of your apartment building. You fumble with your key fob and stumble up the two flights of stairs to get to your apartment. Spider-man shouts after you, and you completely ignore him as you push open the already unlocked door. You’re too focused on the vomit building up in your throat to come to terms with the fact that Spider-man of all people is in your apartment. You sincerely hope that Peter is not at home. You have no idea how to explain the situation if he comes out of his hole to find that Spider-man is in your apartment.
You race into your bathroom and fumble with the lights and push up the toilet seat before emptying the contents of your stomach. Tears of embarrassment fill your eyes and you feel a warm hand on your back gathering your hair together. You heave into the toilet until the wave of nausea goes away.
You lean back on your heels and dig the palms of your hands into your eyes. A broken sob escapes your lips before you gain the strength to look at Spider-man. Silent tears coat your cheeks and he squats down to meet your gaze. He wordlessly holds out a hand towel for you and you take it with a quiet thank you. The gravity of the situation finally settles on your shoulders as you cry pathetically in front of Spider-man on your bathroom floor.
You lean your head back on the bathroom wall and let out a sigh. “God, I hope my roommate isn’t here. I dunno how I’ll explain why Spider-man is in my bathroom.”
“Don’t worry about it,” he said softly, gently wiping away the last of your tears on your face. “Let’s get your teeth brushed and into bed.”
You nod wordlessly and take the hand he offers and pulls you back on your feet. You brush your teeth and climb into bed. Your gaze lingers on Spider-man’s backside. He takes a step towards your bedroom window, but you reach for his hand to stop him from leaving. “Thank you for saving me,” you whispered before he squeezed your hand and left through the window. This time you mean it.
When you wake up the next morning, you’re hungover and disoriented. It takes you several long moments to gather your bearings and climb out of bed. You reach for your purse and empty out its contents; you still had everything in your bag. You rush into the bathroom and rip off the clothes you went out in last night. The good thing was that you had no wounds or injuries from your confrontation with an armed robber. It makes you sigh in relief as you turn on the shower. The warm water cascades down your back and you relax immediately.
You close your eyes and let your shoulders drop. Had last night really happened or was it just your drunken imagination? Had Spider-man really saved you and walked home and taken care of you as you cried pathetically on your bathroom floor? It seemed like a fever dream.
After your shower, you change into a clean set of lounge pants and a loose fitted t-shirt before making your way out of your room and into the kitchen. To your surprise, Peter is up and sitting at the counter with a cup of coffee in his hands and his glasses perched over his nose. You glance at the kitchen clock. He’s never up this early, and he tends to avoid you at all costs if he hears you move around the apartment.
“Is there enough coffee left for me?” you asked, walking towards the fridge.
“Mhm,” he hummed, looking at you through the rims of his glasses.
“Cool, thanks, Parker.”
There’s several long moments of silence and you feel Peter’s stare at the back of your neck as you make your cup of coffee on the kitchen counter. You set the creamer back in the fridge and turn to look at Peter as you sip on your coffee. “What, Peter?”
His shoulders tense up and he looks down at his open notebook. “It’s nothing, forget it.”
Your brows pinch together as you return his stare and drink your coffee. “It’s obviously something. What is it, Peter?”
“Are you okay? I heard a lot of noise last night and I wanted to make sure you were okay, but it sounded like someone was with you.”
Your body goes rigged and you laugh nervously as you take a sip of your coffee. “It was just Maude and Violet. They walked me home and I was drunk. Sorry if I woke you, I wasn’t sure if you were home,” you lied between your teeth as you met Peter’s concerned gaze.
He nods slowly. “Just be careful if it happens again, the apartment door was left unlocked.”
“Ah, shit, sorry.”
Peter’s not surprised that you made the decision to lie. After all, he’s the one that took care of you and walked you home, but you didn’t know that your reclusive roommate was Spider-man. If he were in your shoes, he’d probably lie too. He lies to you on a regular basis due to his nightly occupation. He heard you tell your friends on the phone one day that you think he’s a male stripper with how late he’s out every night.
There’s a brief pause before Peter speaks again. “I made breakfast, there’s leftovers on the stove for you.”
“Oh! Thanks, Peter.”
You make yourself a plate of the leftovers he made and take the stool beside him. You eat quietly and scroll through the emails you missed yesterday. From the corner of your eye, you notice Peter staring at you. You turn to look at him. “What, Peter?”
“Are you sure you’re okay? You seem upset. Do you want to talk about it?”
“I’m getting by,” you answered truthfully with a shrug of your shoulders. “I rather not talk about it.”
When you’re finished with breakfast, you clean up the kitchen before retreating to your room and get ready for the day. When you leave the apartment, you don’t miss the way Peter’s eyes follow you out the door.
Now, Peter didn’t intend on following you. He’s just worried about you. He knows that you don’t owe him an explanation. He hasn’t been the best roommate and you have a rocky relationship with each other, but something about last night makes him want to change that. You could’ve died, and even though he prevented it, he wants to make sure you’re taking care of yourself. Whatever you’re going through, he wants you to know that he would be there to listen if you wanted, whether as Peter or as Spider-man.
He changes quickly into his suit and climbs out of the window. He knows a little bit of what your daily schedule is like. You have classes in the morning until the early afternoon and then you head to your internship at some law office near Manhattan. He doesn’t know exactly what you do, but it keeps you out of the house for most of the day and into late evenings every week.
As he follows you throughout the day, he catches up on homework he’s been neglecting to do as well as keeping tabs on the gangs he’s been tracking over the last several months. He’s perched on the roof that’s opposite of the office you work in. He can see you at your desk, which faces the windows on the fifth floor. Your eyes are focused as he watches you work from a distance. Your head turns as he watches you react to someone calling your name. He sees you laugh and smile as you take a file from a co-worker. Peter can’t remember the last time he saw you smile.
A few more hours pass before he watches you gather your things and head out the building. He hovers over you as you make the journey back home. The lights in the apartment turn on and the window to your bedroom lights up and Peter makes his move to greet you for a second time as Spider-man.
He swings on to the fire escape with gentle footing. As he’s about to knock on your window, your curtains slide open and you don’t notice him standing there until you poke your head out the window.
“Agh!” you screamed, hitting your head on the window. You stumble back into your room and grab at the top of your head. You stare at Spider-man with wide, shocked eyes as he raises his hands in mock surrender just outside your window. “What are you doing here?!”
Spider-man climbs through your window and stares at you with his hands up. “What are you doing climbing on to the fire escape?” he retorted. “That’s dangerous.”
You gap at him like a fish out of water. “I sit on the fire escape when I eat dinner. What’s it to you, Spider-man? You do much more dangerous things than me climbing on to the fire escape and we’ve both lived to tell our tales.”
“Touché,” he said, closing the window behind him.
“What are you doing here? You can’t just come in here! My roommate heard you last night!”
You run to close your bedroom door and Peter’s thankful that he’s wearing his mask with the smirk that grows on his face. If you only knew that you were talking to Peter. “I just wanted to check in on you and see how you were doing.”
You sigh. “I’m fine!” you hissed. “Can you please leave? Peter should be back any second and the walls are super thin. Please go.”
Peter has to bite his tongue in order to suppress the laugh that’s threatening to spill out. “Wait, you’re roommates with a guy?”
You scoff at the masked superhero. “Seriously, Bug Boy? It’s 2022, a guy and a girl can peacefully live together without fucking each other! You’re unbelievable!”
Peter sputters at your crass language and his cheeks flush a deep red. You stomp towards him and gently brace your hands against his chest. You ignore the feeling of his taut muscles under your palms as you push him towards the window.
“I appreciate the concern, but I’m fine. You have to leave. Go save a stray cat or stop a car thief, I don’t care. Just go. You have more important things to do than checking in on me, I’m a big girl, I can take care of myself.”
You open the window and practically shove Spider-man out of it. He holds the window open for just another long moment. “I’ll be here if you ever need me again, okay?”
Your gaze met his masked white eyes. “Okay. Take care of yourself, Spidey.”
Your heart drops into your stomach as you watch him swing away.
You shut the window and lean against it with a heavy sigh. Your shoulders immediately deflate and you shake your head in disbelief. Spider-man had come to check on you.
Ten minutes pass as you attempt to relax from your second encounter with Spider-man and eat your dinner on the kitchen isle when the door to the apartment unlocks. You let out the tension that had built up in your shoulders as you waited for Peter to come home.
He locks the door and quickly toes off his shoes. He smiles and says a quiet hello before shrugging off his backpack and his jacket.
“Hey, Pete. There’s leftover dinner in the fridge,” you said, finishing your meal. “I was going to watch the new episode of Rick and Morty if you wanted to join me.”
“I’d love to,” he said, hurrying down the hall and throwing his bag in his room. He joins you on the couch and it takes everything in his power to calm his racing heart.
Several days pass and things between you and Peter are somewhat back to normal and Spider-man hasn’t returned to your window.
Near the end of the week, to your complete and utter surprise, Peter brings you lunch one afternoon.
“Hey, Y/n!” the secretary Tara called your name. “Your roommate’s here with your lunch!”
You look over your desk and to your surprise, Peter trails behind Tara with a bag with Paula’s Deli inscribed on it. It was your favorite spot to get sandwiches when you needed a pick me up. Peter smiles sheepishly at you and rubs the back of his head. You smile softly and lead the two of you to the break room across the floor. You settle at an empty table and sit across from him.
“You didn’t have to get me lunch, Peter. Thank you,” you told him with a grateful smile.
“You forgot your lunch on the counter.”
“How did you know to get me Paula’s Deli sandwiches?”
He grins as the two of you start to eat together. “It’s only the best kept secret in Queens, Y/n,” he teased, pulling the hat he was wearing off his head.
“Jesus, Peter! What happened to your eye?” you gasped, reaching across the table to get a better look at his face. His right eye was black and bruised. He winces when your fingers brush over the tender skin.
“I was running late to class yesterday and wiped out and well… fell on my face,” he muttered sheepishly.
“Shit, Parker,” you mumbled before sitting back down. “If you need me to help you with anything, just let me know, okay?”
He smiles softly and nods. “Okay.”
After you had lunch with Peter and finished the remaining work you had left for the day, you went home and were surprised yet again that Peter was home before you. You knew that he was out late most days and you rarely saw him around this time of day at the apartment.
Music was playing softly through the TV and you sat your bag on one of the empty stools at the counter. He was making dinner. You never saw Peter make anything in the time that you’ve lived together.
“I’m making spaghetti, I hope that’s okay,” he said as he turned to greet you.
You stare at him. “Yeah, yeah that’s fine. Thanks, Peter. I’ll be right back to help you.”
You retreat to your room and change into comfy clothes. You return to the kitchen table set for dinner and Peter eagerly pulls out a chair for you. You shake your head and laugh softly at him before taking a seat. You eat together and make small talk before building up the courage to ask him a question.
“Why are you doing this, Peter?” you asked as you sipped on your water. “Not that I don’t mind you making dinner for us, but this isn’t like you. Do you have something to tell me?”
Peter clears his throat before his eyes meet yours. “I want us to start over. I know we haven’t been the best roommates to each other, and I want to fix that. We haven’t gotten off on the right foot and I want to try and be friends with you, if that’s okay with you.”
You’re shocked to say the least. You hadn’t expected that. You thought that this was his “I’m moving out” speech and that he’d force you into a spiral as you tried to find another roommate before he left. You visibly relax.
You can’t help but smile. “I’d like that,” you said, clinking your glasses together.
You and Peter fall into a nice, new routine after that. You take turns making each other dinner and you actually enjoy spending time together. You’re courteous of your crazy schedules and communicate with each other when you need space. It was a good change of pace. Things were going back to normal and it allowed you to push your two encounters with Spider-man to the back of your mind. You haven’t seen him since you told him to leave.
One night, you’re scared awake by a crash just outside your window. Your heart is in your throat as you turn on your bedside lamp and creep over to the window. You pull back your curtains and gasp in surprise. Your hand flies to your mouth and then you’re frantically trying to open your window for a very wounded Spider-man.
“I know… I know you said not to come back, but I didn’t know where else to go,” he wheezed as he clutched his side.
You gingerly wrap your arm around his waist and guide him into your room. “I didn’t say that,” you whispered tentatively as you help him on the floor and lean against your bed. “I said I could take care of myself, but apparently you need me to do that for you too.”
“Don’t tease me, Lady Bug,” he laughed painfully. “It hurts to laugh.”
You ignore the way the nickname makes your heart skip a beat. You run into your bathroom and rummage through the cabinets for the first aid kit your parents bought you when you first moved into the apartment. You wash your hands quickly, throw your hair up into a ponytail, and run back out to the injured superhero.
You kneel down in front of him and stare at his bloody chest. His suit is torn in three different places across his chest. It was like whatever he fought tried clawing his heart out. It had massive talons.
“I can’t clean the wounds the right way with your suit still on.”
“If you wanted to see me naked, you could’ve just said so.”
“I’m not joking,” you deadpan with a glare. “You’re lucky you didn’t wake Peter with how loud you are.”
“Peter, Peter, Peter,” he tutted. “You’re awfully concerned about someone you don’t get along with.”
You let out an exasperated sigh and lean back on your thighs as you look at him. “Do you want me to fix you up or not, Spider-ling?”
He grunts and leans forward. “There’s a zipper where the mask meets the neckline of the suit. I would unzip it myself, but I can’t lift my arms above my shoulders.”
Your heart leaps in your throat. You’re going to have to unzip the suit for him. “Okay,” you whispered.
You sit up on your knees and lean towards him. Your fingers gingerly wrap around his neck as you feel for the zipper. Your fingers itch at the edge of the mask and you hold your breath as the zipper falls down his back. His warm breath hits your shoulder even through the mask. You know he can smell your agave scented shampoo and it makes you wonder briefly what he smells like without the iron of his blood and the mixture of his sweat on his skin.
Your fingers carefully pull the suit from his body and it’s bundled at his waist. Now that the suit is off his chest, you can see the full extent of his injuries. You can’t help but stare. Blood is oozing from his chest and it’s already starting to dry at the edges.
You run back into the bathroom again and wet a washcloth before returning to your spot in front of him. You dab the cold cloth against his skin and he winces at the contact. You don’t say anything. What could you say to a superhero that came to you for aid? You don’t have the words.
“What happened?” is what you settle on.
“You should see the other guy,” he joked. You stare at him and he sighs. “The less you know, the better. It’s safer that way.”
“Then why come to me at all? If it’s so dangerous, why are you here with me?”
He sighs and you focus on his chest rather than trying to guess what his face says when you stare at his mask. “For purely selfish reasons.”
You don’t know what to say to that, so you settle on not saying anything at all. The bleeding finally stops for you to wipe antibacterial cream on the wounds before placing large bandages on the wounds.
“Are there any other wounds I should take care of?”
He shakes his head. “No.”
You nod your head and busy yourself with cleaning up the wrappings and throwing the bloody washcloth in the trash by your bed. Spider-man calls your name and you turn to face him as he makes it to his feet. You swallow hard and meet him by the window. You help him back into his tattered suit and zip it back up, your hands braced on his back.
“Is it wrong of me to say how much I like you?” he whispered.
“You don’t know anything about me, just as I don’t know anything about you,” you reasoned, not meeting his masked gaze. “You can’t say that.”
“I know, and I know it’s selfish and dangerous of me to want to get to know you.”
You nod in agreement. There’s a ringing in your ears. “Goodnight, Spider-man. Get home safe.”
He opens the window and you don’t miss how his gaze lingers as he stands on the fire escape.

Peter with a aromantic darling who loves physical affection and is constantly hugging people around them, but one day while hugging Peter they tell him that he has the best hugs?
Most of the time Peter isn't bothered by how affectionate you are with others, though his confidence that he's your favorite amongst the others you give hugs to sometimes falters, wishing that you'd direct all your tenderness towards him instead, he can take it and most importantly he wants it all
Of course he'd never put that pressure on you, never talk about it and allow you to freely interact with people as you please while he fiddles with his hands. You must've noticed how distanced he became cause you took him off to the side only to hug him and reassure he's the one you love to hug
Peters arms are always so protective and warm, no one else's embrace could compare. You'd watch him basically melt in your hug before you go off to the rest of your friends, leaving him to try to contain how jelly like his heart feels after that.
Your fellow avenger and friend Peter hears you coughing in your room, of course the superhero in him had to come make sure you were alright
Eyes closed in pure relaxation, music playing from your tv and a blunt burning your hand; you think this must be the closest thing to heaven on Earth there is.
You take another pull, coughing a bit at the burn in your throat. But it’s worth it to experience the way the music sounds especially beautiful to your ears right now. To have all the anxiety of the day melt away just from inhaling.
You smile to yourself, hitting the blunt again and once again coughing. Fuck, you gotta take a smaller hit you reprimand yourself internally with a giggle, but you quickly go silent at the sound of approaching footsteps.
You scramble to hide your lighter and all other evidence of your recreational drug use as you hear a knock on your door.
“Y/N, you’ve been coughing all night; are you okay? Do you have a cold?”
You almost sigh in relief at the sound of Peter Parker’s concerned voice from behind your door.
“Is something burning? Y/N, open up!” He calls impatiently now and you cover your mouth at his naiveness. For a genius he sure could be slow.
He must’ve finally put two and two together when he exclaims, “oh my god! are you smoking weed?” just pushing open your door at this point and you gasp.
“Geez, Peter are you gonna announce it to the whole compound? Shut the door!” You whisper yell.
He steps in and closes the door behind him, making himself right at home in your bed.
“Ummm, I did not say for you to get in my bed Pete! I’m having a….self care night.” You explain and he rolls his eyes.
“Wow, what if I wanted to join your smoke sesh?” He asks almost too seriously and you raise an eyebrow.
“Since when does Spider-Man smoke weed?”
“I like to drink. But sometimes with my spider senses, I don’t like how being drunk makes me feel. But a joint every now then helps me relax” he shrugs. You can’t help but soften at the somewhat personal confession. Of course the team were all pretty close, but its hard to talk about how your powers and obligations can affect you.
You pull the blunt out again, handing it to him with a suggestive wiggle of your eyebrows. You grab the lighter and he takes it too.
The glow of the flame illuminates his face for a moment and you watch him as he takes his first pull. You’re still high, and can’t help but study him. The way his big hands looked holding the lighter. How pretty his hair was.
He smirks when he catches you staring.
“Take a picture Y/N, it’ll last longer” he jokes
as he exhales. Now it’s your turn to roll your eyes.
He passes the blunt back to you.
“Why do you smoke?” He asks, his soft brown eyes watching you with care.
You shrug, in similar fashion to him.
“I dunno, why does anyone? I like being high”
Peter laughs a little, “That’s why I like you….”
You don’t don’t know why those five words have such an effect on you.
“You like me?” You can’t help but ask, feeling incredibly dumb afterwards.
Peter shifts to be closer to you, “I really do actually. When I heard you coughing, I was gonna try to swoop in and take care of you in your hour of need. But this even better, and I’m glad you’re not sick” he confesses.
And your stuck with a silly grin, body buzzing from THC and excitement alike.
He reaches out a hand to grab the blunt from you, and you expect him to to take another hit. Instead he ashes it and places it on the nightstand.
He leans forward, “I didn’t think it was possible, but somehow you’re even prettier when you’re high” his voice whispers, a little gruffer now.
And he meant every word. The way your eyes got lower every time you took a puff had his dick already half hard. And fuck, he wanted to commit the smell of you to memory.
“Maybe it’s the weed…” you giggle, “…but I really wanna fuck you”
Peter feels his body go into overdrive at your words, every fiber of his being telling him to fill you up right then.
“Is it just the weed?” He hums, placing a hand on your thigh, thumb stroking the exposed skin there. You shake your head, climbing into his lap and his hands immediately relocate to your waist.
“Nah, I’ve wanted to fuck your for a while actually Spider-Boy” you tease, rocking your hips against him and he pulls you even tighter.
“It’s Spider-Man” he corrects you before finally pressing his lips to yours. You kiss him back like it’s the last the last thing you’d ever do, his mouth sweet from the berry fusion wrap you’d smoked. You feel yourself grow wetter with each passing second, whining against him.
“I wanna ride you” you pant, finally breaking away from the kiss and Tom groans, making quick work of both of your underwear and his own.
“Fuck, you can do anything you want” he replies and you push him back against the bed. He looked so good lying there beneath you, and you can’t can’t him inside of you fast enough.
Peter sits up on his elbows to watch you sink down on his dick, jaw going slack at feeling of your wetness squeezing him just right.
“Oh my god, Pete, I can feel you so deep” you moan once you’re finally settled and he can barely string the words together enough to speak.
“Take you shirt off, please” he grunts and you comply, pulling your top over your head slowly. Only breaking eye contact when the shirt breaks your line of vision. You can feel his dick throb inside of you as his eyes falls to your tits, wasting no time taking them in his hands and massaging.
Your hips start moving almost on their own accord at the feel of his big hands on your breasts. You take your first tentative bounce, already feeling the first traces of pleasure at the way he filled you so perfectly.
Peter’s fingers find your nipples, playing with and pinching them as you bounce harder on top of him. Your own hands steady yourself on his strong chest, continuing your movements. Something about it turned you on so much. Spider-Man himself beneath you, fucking you. Letting you use him to make yourself cum.
You feel your high approaching, hips stuttering. Peters brown curls were beginning to stick to his forehead, damp with sweat. So handsome.
He can tell you’re close, hands moving to grip your ass and help you grind against him.
“I’m so close Pete…” you whisper, voice needy and Peter plants his feet in the mattress; hips thrusting upwards to fuck up into you.
You gasp as he pounds you from below, head falling forward and you can’t even warn him before you’re coming all over his cock.
You shake above him, and Peter is mesmerized by the way you look. He pushes into you slower now, but still deep as he feels his own orgasm washing over him.
