TRAVIS YOU AREN'T THAT SLICK
So, I was reading this book
And after a bit I turn to my wife and I say "This book has 'written by a Stargate fan' stink all over it. I don't know. Maybe I'm just paranoid."
My reasons were: there was an alien in a military facility called 'the mountain'. You know.
Like this one. Where the titular stargate is.
The alien is kinda possessing someone. Kind of like... A goa'uld.
A military general at the mountain base retired to go "fishing and golfing". Oh, you mean like Jack O'Neill's two favourite hobbies?
The alien (a young girl) mentions her world is beyond a star called something like VL62 CASS. Oh. Cass. Like, Cassandra the young girl from Stargate season one??
And I didn't realize this until later, but it turns out one character's last name is Weir. You know. Like this lady.
So all of this is circumstantial, right? I could be making things up. But THEN. THEN. A character appears who has taken the name Peter Williams.
Huh. It's a common name, but it rings a bell. Wait. Wait. This Peter Williams?
Famously played-the-main-antagonist-in-stargate-season-one Peter Williams?
Oh hey you know what's my favourite Peter Williams pic? This one.
Where he has the date when the comet Apophis will be around.
AND THERE'S A MOTHERFUCKING PLOT-RELEVANT COMET IN THIS FUCKING BOOK.
Also (mild spoilers) A WORMHOLE WAS OPEN THROUGH A GATEWAY AT THE END OF THE BOOK.
I feel like I'm losing my mind a little because I can't see anybody else mentioning this. Was I the only one at the Devil's Sacrament? Is no one else both a TJ Klune fan and a Stargate fan??? Is this thing on??? CAN ANYBODY HEAR ME-
Stargate actors in other roles
Peter Williams in THE EXPANSE
Apophis in Outer Limits
Peter Williams as Chili Wayne in “Fathers and Sons”
Ocker: Why is he on our Tumblr?! 😡
Me: Um…
Apophis’ Host, the Scribe, in Outer Limits
Me: Better?
Ocker: That is acceptable.
I admit, it’s weird to see him without the Apophis getup.
Goa’uld lick lip!
