I wanted to post some lithograph illustrations from Bono's version of 'Peter and the Wolf'. Yes, I'm referring to that Bono. These crudely drawn figures and Bono's brush strokes present an understanding of light and dark.

We know of celebrities making projects for their kids, but Bono's daughters actually contribute to his street interpretation of the score. But tell me if you think he was versatile in his capabilities.

It’s a children’s orchestral work in which different animals are represented by different musical instruments. #bowie provides voice over narration and has great fun narrating the story and voicing different characters - he enjoyed doing celebrity impersonations even during interviews, for that matter. This recording was released in #1978 - Bowie hopped over to the US gladly to record this in late 1977 for #brittensyoungpersonsguide to the #orchestra, backed by #eugeneormandy with the #philadelphiaorchestra He did it for his own son Zowie (now Duncan Jones), whom he thought might still be young enough to enjoy it. I was sure I had a reissue given it’s on translucent green #coloredvinyl, but this copy is actually an original pressing. Subsequent repressings were all on black vinyl. This copy picked up from the glorious Michelle @savvy_vinyl_records #melbournefl savvyvinylrecords.com I’m doing these slightly out of chronological order because I wanted to wrap up Bowie‘s Berlin recordings and then move forward into the 80s.
