ROXIE- “Mark, I am proud of you the birthday cakes look incredible. You really have come a long way with your culinary skills.”

MARK- “Thanks, Sis, I have been watching that cooking show on the TV, they have some great ideas.”

PETER- “Ah, yes I have watched it a few times too.”

LOGAN- “Can we please blow out our candles? I have some aging up to do here.”

SETH- “Fair enough... Perry put down the phone, they are going to blow out their candles now.”

PERRY- “Just want to get some shots for my Simstagram.”

LOGAN- “okay here goes nothing... 

ROXIE- “Don’t forget to make a wish, Logan!”

LOGAN- “Already ahead of you Aunt Roxie.”

MARK- “You too Jonas, do this at the same time, I mean you guys are twins.”

JONAS- “My wish is that Logan and I will be judged on our own merits and not based on the fact that we are twins...”

MARK- “Just blow out the candles, son.”

MARK- “So, Peter, Seth and I have discussed this, and I shared everything with Seth regarding your brother and what happened, and we both agree that you need to stay on here with us and continue as the twins nanny.”

PETER- “Are you sure. I mean I would understand if---

SETH- “Mark is right, Peter, we want you to stay. I think that over time your brother will realize that what happened had nothing to do with you. And the kids really like you and have grown attached to you. You are amazing with them.”

PETER- “But what if Joseph continues to try and communicate with them?”

MARK- “Once he sees that you have control of the situation and are not going to let anything happen to them, I think he will rest and leave you alone.”

PETER- “So you think he is trying to help me take care of them because he thinks I could allow the same thing to happen to them as did him??”

MARK- “I think you may think that. But you have to realize that you are fully capable of helping us raise Logan and Jonas and that you would NEVER let anything happen to them. Once you realize that, then Joseph will too.”

PETER- “I think you are right. I think he is just worried about them.”

MARK- “I am sure he is, and so we need to make sure he knows that they are safe with you. And YOU need to know that Seth and I trust you and that you will not allow anything to happen to them either.”

Over a period of several months up through the next year, Peter began seeing less and less of his “brother” He also sopped appearing to the children. Regardless if it truly was the ghost of Joseph Lowenthal or not, Peter began to gain confidence in his abilities and in time realized that his brother’s accident was not his fault and Josephs “ghost” finally was able to rest in peace.

I am going to take a short hiatus from the Schrieber Legacy and will return in a week or so, at which time there will be a time jump. Until then please enjoy my new Story HEIR APPARENT.

PETER- “If it is okay, I think before their nap, I was going to take the kids over to the park”

MARK- “Of course, not a problem at all, and you really do not need to ask permission, Peter.”

PETER- “Oh, sorry, I didn’t mean it to sound that way. I guess I just wanted you to know where we would be. I think I will go change real quick while Logan eats.”

Once Peter leaves to go upstairs to change, Seth gives Logan her lunch, takes Jonas out of his chair and then tells Mark what he found in Logan’s room....

SETH- “There was a dirty diaper just laying on the floor and she had on a fresh diaper. It is just not like him to leave a dirty diaper anywhere, not to mention right there on the floor.”

MARK- “You know how she hates diapers, maybe she took it off?”

SETH- “And put on her own diaper? She is very smart, but that would be impossible.”

LOGAN- “JoJo changed me.”

MARK- “Silly girl, Jonas didn’t change you. (Back towards Seth) Peter seemed a little distracted when he came down for lunch.”

SETH- “Maybe he needs a couple days or a week off.  I mean the boy has been non-stop for nine months, and has taken very little time for himself. Between his studies and the kids, he may just need a break, you know?”

MARK- “You’re right, I will talk to him later after he gets back from the park with the kids.”

SETH- “Sounds good.  Okay I am off to the animals. See you at dinner.”

Instead of changing, Peter went back into Jonas’s room...

PETER- “Hello?... I know you were here. Hello? You don’t scare me, but Jonas is a different story. Okay, fine. But I know you are here. I will be looking for you from now on, just so you know....”

After a day at the park, then a little nap, the little ones had an early dinner and Peter put them both to bed. The park excursion must have worn them out.

PETER- “You look really sleepy Jonas. We need to get you and your sister ready for bed..”

JONAS- “Night Night?””

PETER- “Yes it is night night...(lays him down and tucks him in) “Sweet dreams precious boy.”

Jonas was asleep before Peter left the room to put Logan down.

When Peter got into Logan’s room, she was already changed for bed...which was odd, if Mark changed her why didn’t he let him know he had already put her to bed, and he left on her light.

PETER- “Did Daddy Mark come and changed you for bed, princess?”

LOGAN- “Nnwkafaj JoJo, nite nite”

PETER- “Yes, Jonas went night night, and now you need to go to sleep too. Tomorrow is Friday and we visit the clinic tomorrow and see all of Daddy Seth’s patients”

PETER- “There you go, good night Logan.”

LOGAN- “Peter nite, Jojo night.”

He switched off her light and headed down to Mark’s office, Mark said he wanted to discuss something with him. He hoped he hadn’t done anything wrong...

SETH- “It is crazy to think that these kids are going to be teens already.”

ROXIE- “I know, it just seems like a few weeks ago I gave birth to these two, and now they are almost grown.”

PETER- “So, Jonas have you decided what you want for your birthday?

JONAS- “Of course, I have, Peter. Let me go over here and take seat, as this is going to take some explaining...

Roxanne Cahill, of course was Mark’s sister that agreed to be the twins biological mother. She has maintained a close relationship with the kids as their aunt, Just recently Logan and Jonas figured out that she was actually their birth mother, or as Jonas likes to refer to her, “the Host” She skyrocketed to the top of the Country Music world and continues to sing, but no longer tours, as she is now acting. She stars in her own TV Sitcom, rightfully called “Roxie”

PETER- “Okay, Jonas, so explain your birthday request.”

JONAS- “Okay, now I need this as soon as possible, Peter and you can put it in an excel spreadsheet if you would please. As you know, I am going to follow in both you and dad’s career as a psychologist. However, I am going to need an in depth goal schedule, showing exactly what classes I need to pursue in High School to achieve the highest GPA. Once I graduate, early of course, I will need all your text books so that I can study them from cover to cover to have an advantage over my peers.”

PETER- “Are you sure that is all you need, Jonas?”

JONAS- “Well a list of the best schools would be beneficial of course.”

PETER- “Yes, of course...”

JOSEPH- “Would you tell this asshole that i don’t want to hurt his kids. I am not here to hurt anyone!”

PETER- “Okay, I know that, but why don’t you just tell him yourself.”

MARK- “Peter??   Peter, is Joseph here now?”

PETER- “Sorry, yes, he is sitting right here next to me, he said he isn’t going to hurt the kids, he isn’t here to hurt anyone. I told him to tell you that himself, but he says you don’t believe he exists, so therefore you can’t see him or hear him.”

MARK- “I want to believe, Peter----

PETER- “Tell him, address him.”

MARK- “Okay, Joseph, I want to believe you are here, and I also want to believe that you do not want to hurt the kids and if that is the case, then why are you here?”

JOSEPH- “He doesn’t believe, and he doesn’t want to, or he could see me. I am here not for his kids, but for you, Peter. I am here to let you know we can still be best friends and brothers. I miss you, and I know you miss me. I am here to help you through this.”

PETER- “He says that if your really believed and wanted to believe you would be able to see him. He is not here for any other reason than for me. He knows I miss him and that he wants to help me through this.”

MARK- “Got it... Joseph, I want you to know that I understand that you just care about Peter. But this is not helping him. This is hindering him from moving on with his life. He does miss you, terribly and he feels guilty because you died and he couldn’t help save you. But you know as well as I do that he was not responsible for any of that. You need to tell him goodbye and let him move forward.”

JOSEPH- “Is that true, Peter? Do you think that you were responsible for me dying?”

PETER- “Yes, sometimes... I do.”

With that, Joseph left the room and Mark and Peter continued to discuss Joseph. Mark had hoped that by talking directly to Joseph that Peter trusted him that he believed and that this would help Peter move on. Now to try and convince Seth that Peter should stay on as the kids Nanny...

Once Peter was ready for bed he decided to call his brother Scott and let him know he was going to be off next weekend and that Mark said he could stay here. Plus he hadn’t talked to him in a few days. So he dialed him up instead of sending a text.

PETER- “Yeah, Mark said it would be fine if you stayed here. I mean the house is big. Of course not as big as ours, or as old, but it is nice. You would be staying in the basement.  Or we could put a sleeping bag in my room if you didn’t want to sleep in the basement.”

SCOTT- “I can sleep in the basement, Pete. I am not a scared little boy anymore. This will be fun, plus I can meet these little kids you are always going on about. Plus, Maybe you can meet Alexis when we get to Britechester, she is going to meet me there on Saturday. I have told her ALL about you.”

PETER- “Yes, I would like that.  I mean you have been dating her almost a year and I haven’t got to meet her yet.  How are mom and Dad and the girls doing? I haven’t heard from Dad at all, and mom only texts me.”

Peter settled in very quickly and went right to work acclimating with everyone in the house and perfecting a schedule with the twins, and finally Logan got on a schedule where her days and nights were no longer mixed up, which Peter was grateful for.  

One of the greatest benefits of his new job was the quiet of the bay and his view every morning from his balcony. He would get up early before anyone else, prepare some coffee and sit on his balcony enjoying this view. He needed this quiet time in the mornings, and in his life. It had been long time since he felt this peaceful. After everything that happened a few years ago at home back in Windenburg life had been anything but peaceful for Peter.  He knew coming here was the right decision.

It wasn’t long and the twins had aged up, and started toddling around and jabbering. Both were quick learners and loved spending time with Peter and their fathers. They both seemed to be very social. Logan rolled the “wild” trait and Jonas rolled the “charmer” trait. Before Peter even realized it he had been here nine months, and the twins would soon be a year old!!

Logan had her daddy Seth’s hair, and Daddy Mark’s eyes. She also had the spray of freckles over her nose and cheeks like Seth.  She may have looked like Seth, but her temperament was more like Mark. She had little patience, and definitely did not like wearing a diaper.  Peter was happy about that, he could start potty training her sooner rather than later.

Jonas on the other hand, resembled Mark, except he had Seth’s eyes, and freckles. He was a little calmer and quiet. He also talked to himself quite a bit, almost as if he had an imaginary friend. He understood when Peter and his father’s spoke, or at least he seemed like he did. He knew what no meant and would abide by the word, unlike Logan, who didn’t seem to care what the adults said.
