“what do you do with the flowers? ”
Jordan chuckled, shaking his head at Morgaine. When he’d found out that she was a witch, he’d had no idea there were so many mortal things she didn’t know... like what to do when he brought her home flowers. “What have you been doing all this time, just spelling them so they’ll start growing again?” he asked, pressing a kiss to her cheek before bending down to pull a vase out from under the cabinet. “You put them in water, like this, and sometimes they have little nutrient packets in there to help them stay alive longer... uh, now you can catch me when I get you the cheap ones, those just come as they are.”
" you don’t step in to love, you fall in. ”
“Lucy Sawyer, falling into anything?” Jonas asked incredulously. For as long as he’d known her, she’d been overcautious -- almost neurotic, even -- and seeing her ready to leap into something headfirst only made him love her even more. And now, it didn’t have to be from afar anymore. Their feelings were finally out on the table, and his heart was racing a million miles a minute as he tilted his head down and finally kissed her for the first time. Pulling back, he kept his forehead pressed against hers, grinning as he said, “I fell a long time ago, nice of you to finally join me down here.”
“ apparently everyone and their mother felt that way but nobody had the guts to tell me. ”
“Felt what way?” Becca asked, bewildered. She’d assumed Leo would have an amazing night, hanging out with Jade while everyone else was at the Valentine’s Ball and out of the way, but for some reason he’d only seemed more sullen after it was all over... at least, towards her. Towards everyone else, his behavior seemed largely the same, and Becca couldn’t help but feel hurt that he wouldn’t at least explain to her what she’d apparently done. On the table in front of them, her phone lit up, a picture of her and Oliver before the ball glowing on the lockscreen, and Leo’s dark look told her all she needed to know. “Is this still about you thinking I’m replacing you with Olly? Because no one thinks that but you, Leo! Well, you and Kelsey, but that’s because you guys are dummies who are fighting. Nobody could ever replace you, okay? Besides -- “ Becca’s cheeks blushed furiously, betraying her even as she insisted, “The dance didn’t mean anything, it was just two friends hanging out, it’s no big deal!”
