Don’t forget to use the #phansurvey2018 tag so we can find you!
Name (or what we should call you): Katrina, I guess. I used to joke that I’m old enough to be a grandma in tumblr years... but i’m finding more and more people who are are my age, so I feel less out of water. (Not to mention, running into @ipenna who is legitimately in her 70s.)

Other:. i’ve occasionally posted something phantom-related on my youtube like this: https://youtu.be/PAguzDrVUf8
1. General phan since: 1998. I was a homeschooled 14 year old with no internet, when I was cast in an obscure non-musical version of poto from the 70s. The fist bit of studying for this teen-troupe production came by way of Lon Chaney. I was spellbound. Read the DeMattos translation, started listening to the Original London Cast Recording nightly.... like you do.
2. Part of Tumblr phandom since: I think the summer of 2016
3. One-sentence summary of how you got into Phantom: Lon Chaney is the OG OG.
4. Phantom-related performances attended: Anytime anyone puts on a live organ to the 1925, I try to be there. I saw the ALW tour in like...2001, maybe?
5. Adaptations you’re familiar with: I have whole hunks of the deMattos translation still memorized. Familiarizing myself with Coward, have read Wolfe. I also--to no one’s surprise--still basically have the OLC recording memorised. I’m also a giant nerd about absolutely everything concerning the 1925 film. i’ve seen the Charles Dance and the Dario Argento and 2004. I’m familiar with--though not particularly fond of--(Kay’s) Phantom, The Phantom of Manhattan, Love Never Dies.
6. Other relevant tidbits you’d like to share (collections, costumes, celebrity encounters, etc.): I just. REALLY don’t like Susan Kay’s Phantom.
1. Main blog: @seams-unusualbc but I use it much less than my Phantom Blog, actually. I post angry political things plus fashion and a wee bit of personal life.
2. Phantom sideblog, This one! @confessionsofanoperaghost
3. Other sideblogs you’d like us to know about: I’ve rolled my aesthetic blog, my Erik Role Play blog and all my NSFW content into one weird little bundle of gore, sex and death @opera-ghost-after-dark which is indeed an 18+ page only pls.
4. Your blog focus/aesthetic, if you have one: at @opera-ghost-after-dark Gothic horror lots of roses blood guts kinda gay monsters and of course: Death and the Maiden
5. Types of fan content you produce, if any: I’m working on an ambitious phic that is a different take on Erik’s backstory. It’s to be a Leroux-accurate and historically contextual work. Which means I’m a NERD about Details in Leroux’s original and I will post about events that are historically relevant to PotO. 😅 I’m currently practicing my art but not too skilled yet.
6. Types of content you reblog (Phantom or otherwise): I’m a snobby Leroux snob. So while i do post content from many many different adaptations, my heart is looking for Leroux-compliant content. At @confessionsofanoperaghost I post a lot of historical tidbits or other random things that could become story prompts or useful background information. I’ve got a few tags that read like “File This Under Shit Erik Would Know”. But its also the dumping ground for most of my other major fandoms. Expect to see random tidbits about Star Wars, Doctor Who, MCU, Ducktales, Steven Universe, broadway musicals, Harry Potter even though I somehow never read it, and others
7. Do you post or reblog NSFW content? all my NSFW content is restricted to @opera-ghost-after-dark where scenes of gore and violence run alongside photos of sweetest lovemaking. I reblog written smut, too.
8. Other general interests: meta communication and nonviolent communication. Solarpunk DIY. Social justice. Sailboating. Witchcraft. Pop Culture paganism.
1. Favorite adaptation(s): 1925. ALW. Phantom Reviews on YouTube
2. Favorite character(s): The usual suspects
3. Ship(s) you ship, if any: I am E/C garbage but I love all KINDS of ships
4. Favorite actor(s): Lon Chaney Sr. Michael Crawford, Patrick Wilson, Edmund Arthur Carwe, Sierra Boggess and what I’ve seen of Ali Eldwold, Ben Lewis (EYES!),
5. Other Phantom-related obsessions: HANDS...! Music: theory, history, experimentation and performance. Circuses. Stagecraft and Illusions.
1. Favorite phan blogs: @not-what-leroux-had-in-mind, @muirin007, @queenofthemorgue @coatntails, @phantomofthetrashcan, @thattrashdude @alvadee @toastysalt @girydaae @missdouwes @fdelopera @chris--daae @corpsepixie@pagesofangels @likelightinglass @wheel-of-fish @opera-ghost
2. Content you’d love to see more of: MORE GAY SHIT especially wlw. More exploration of the three main characters vis a vis each of their asexual characteristics. And in my phluff, a lot more polyamory and bdsm.
3. Phandom discord server(s) that you frequent: Phantom Pals, Meg Giry Fan Club, The Actually Useful Group and Phantom Retrospective
4. Do you/would you attend phan-hosted streams? If so, what would you like to see streamed?
I have attended a few, they’ve been fun! I’m really only interested in catching things I haven’t seen or the 1925 though. Or potp, I’d see that one again, too. I personally can’t do the ALW musicals right now. I’ve just listened to it too many times (or something?)
5. Do you read fanfiction/what kind(s)?
I’m scared to read anything that might influence what I’m writing, so I’m generally not reading anymore Erik backstories. I read one shots and phluff mostly. I wanna dig back into angst but everything is way too sad right now.
The best thing I’ve ever read is Unsung, by @wheel-of-fish
6. Anything else you’d like to add?
There’s no room for white supremacy here. Nazis leave.
