My favorite scenes in the LotR books are the ones where Legolas has vital information and just decides it's not important to share.

Like when Gandalf spent literal PAGES trying to figure out why the vibes were off in Moria and Legolas chimes in with just "it's a balrog :) that shit's evil :) we're so fucked :)" like what do you MEAN you knew already and just didn't tell him??

Or at the beginning of Two Towers when Aragorn thinks there's something nearby so he puts his ear to the ground to listen, and then like 10 minutes later is like "hmmm i hear horses" and Legolas is just like "mm yep. there are 105 blond bitches with spears" like you just let your friend put his face in the dirt and you can SEE them??

Niche drama I'm kind of intrigued by atm: Because I recently commissioned an artist my Twitter has been nothing BUT art comm stuff, and Resident Evil Art Commission Twitter is having a field day upon learning about some prolific seventeen year old scammer who apparently commissioned every major artist in the space and then hit them with chargebacks immediately upon completion. Stole a lot of money this way, and I'm kind of taken aback at the sheer number of people who were like "Oh my god yes this person reached out to me too"

I'm intrigued because 1) This feels like such a "big fish in a tiny pond" type of thing to happen because it's such a niche corner of the internet but all these artists were familiar with one another and were like "Oh THAT PERSON? YOU TOO?" which like. If you're going to scam I feel you must diversify, except the intent was clearly not to MERELY scam because they did, in the end, collect several works of their OC and/or Leon, and 2) It kind of fascinates me that in an age of AI images someone nevertheless chose the option of hurting artists via direct financial harm. Like there was a way you could have gone about this that would have somehow pissed them off less but you went straight for "attempt to impoverish someone across international borders"
