These Heavy Hearts We Hold
There was one thing that Dan was positive about. It wasn't the humid weather, nor was it the video he still had to edit. It was that no matter what happened in the seconds, days, weeks, months, and years that would make up his life his heart would remain heavy. It would stay that way until the winter killed the earth and nothing remained but grave that would mark him. A heart held down by a love he was to nervous, to scared, to admit to the world. Phil Lester, his other half, the light to his darkness, held a heavy heart in his hands. Perhaps one he didn't even know he held. That would forever haunt Dan until his final breath. Maybe it was luck that Phil knocked on his door, with the same amazing smile and bright eyes, that made Dan's heart beat faster. "I hope you feel like going out tonight!" Phil said in a tone that shouldn't have made Dan feel overheated, a blush no doubt on his cheeks. Phil stepped in, a simple movement, one that was so common, yet so special. A blind rush of hope, a future that formed in his mind like a flower growing in the mist of spring. "Of course. Would you like to watch a movie before we go?" A question, simple, and Dan found himself fixing his hair with a sloppy grin on his face. Phil laughed, a light sounding chuckle, that seemed to brighten the room. "You don't have to ask me twice." Phil went into the living room and took a seat on the couch, his gaze following Dan as he made his way to the couch. It must have been a dream. A sick, sick dream were everything he imagined and more came true. "I-I-Phil." "I know. Just trust me." Phil kissed him, soft lips crashing into another pair that fit so well. Hands jerked at clothing until Dan found himself pinned with a semi-naked Phil above him. Binding down Phil took another kiss, a kiss that Dan was so willing to give, and the pair continued to kiss until their lungs burned for oxygen. Pulling away Phil went down from the swollen red lips to the soft skin that called for him. Teeth grazed and nipped, lips trailed over goosebumps, and a tongue trailed out to run over the peaked nipples, toned stomach, smooth hipbones. "Don't tease me!" Dan hissed in a hushed tone as if someone else could hear. Phil smirked, fingers digging into hips, as he pulled Dan up and over until the young man was laying across a lap. "Then don't interrupt me unless you scream my name." Pants were jerked down and a hand descended to hit a round ass that would soon be painted pink. Phil lost count eventually, his palm smacking Dan repeatedly, until his alabaster skin pinkened like a sunset. "Are. You. Done." Dan asked although it seemed to be more of a statement. Grabbing the silk hair Phil pulled Dan up before pinning him again. "Not just yet, playtime comes before dinner." With skilled hands Phil flipped Dan over onto his back. "I want you to look into my eyes as I fuck you. I want to hear my name escape your lips until your throat becomes hoarse." With one last kiss Phil spread Dans legs, all articles of clothing spread out around them. "I want you to be by my side until we die, surrounded by our children and grandchildren, but until then I want our love to burn our hearts as they sit in our hands." With a single thrust Dan was putty under Phil. Every wet dream and dark fantasy could not compare to reality. "Phil. Phil. Phil. Phil." Gasp spoken as a manatra, moans and grunts of pleasure filling the room, until the movies sound became dull. Minutes passed, hours, and then it all stopped as they reached a high that destroyed the both of them. Phil collapsed on him, but Dan was the first to speak. "Dinner?" "Dinner." The resturant was nice, and not very crowded. It would have been perfect if the waitress, a blonde with a nametag reading Katelyn, would just stop starring. Yes, Dan wanted a cheeseburger and a water, no he did not want to get oogled. "Tonight has been perfect." Dan told Phil, leaning against him as they walked out. The night air was crisp, stomachs filled with food, and the memories of the day tattooed in their minds forever. This was it, the day that Dan Howell and Phil Lester, became one. "Buckled up?" Phil asked as he started the car. "Yeah. You?" Dan smiled, and for the first time his heart felt less heavy. There was a red light. Hands slipping into one another like they were made for each other. "Phil, I L-" There was a hard jerk, sharp shards blowing everywhere, as metal slid across hard concrete. When the ambulance came, with police, and soon news reporters, they would find the two young men holding bloodied hands with broken smiles on damaged faces. What no one would ever know is that Dan and Phil had heavy hearts that only the other could hold. And most of all...that Dan loved Phil...more than Phil would ever know.
Bond, James Bond
“I DON’T WANT TO GOOOOOOOO” I screamed down the halls,
“Dan’s going to be there,” said Cat in a taunting voice.
I felt my cheek’s get hot and just got my shoes on and order an uber, trying to not draw attention to Cat’s comment.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cat nudged my shoulder repeatedly, her cheeks were flustered and rosy, and she was smiling as if she was trying to say, "Dan, you should see this."
Cat looked across the room. I thought, "What Cat?" but I managed to say, "Wh-" and out of all the people in the hall I was in, there was Phil.
The high ceilings were painted with artwork from over 200 years ago but nothing looked as beautiful as Phil did that second. The lights complemented his skin perfectly and the James Bond style suit he was wearing hugged him in his shoulders, his wrists and his calfs. His hair had a halo over it and his smile was brighter than usual, someone must of said something so amusing. "Go over and talk to him!" Cat jumped up and down. I felt my face get hot and Cat smiled, I somehow managed to get some courage and walked over to him. "This shouldn't be this hard," I thought, "it's just like watching anime and eating breakfast with him in the mornings." Except Phil wasn't looking like this. I mean, he's cute but not usually this cute. "Hi," my face turned red and Phil smiled his famous smile at me. "Hi!" Phil said to me.
“You look great,” I mumbled.
The chatter of everyone around us and the orchestra drowned me out though. He said something to me and I couldn't hear him. "Hey, Dan, follow me. I'll show you somewhere we can talk." acknowledging the noise. Phil grabbed my hand and led me through the pools of people until we got to another room that wasn't as glamorous as the one we were just in. But bright golden lights still shined. "This nerd wants to bring me somewhere. Oh, he's holding my hand. Oh, is my hand too sweaty? He doesn't care, does he?" I thought.
“He’s grabbing my hand. Mine. My hand.” I thought.
Phil sat down on the floor leaning against wall, I just stood there watching how perfect he was. Phil smiled, "What are you waiting for?!?! Sit!" I sat down with him and I shuffled around a bit, “Am I sitting too close to him? He's not complaining, so I'm fine.” I leaned over and I kissed him. "SHOOT, SHOOT. I didn't mean to do that." I thought to myself. Phil kept on smiling and his cheeks turned rosy pink, like the best kind of strawberries in the summer. "That, that was nice." Phil smiled and put his head on my shoulder. "Really?" I asked. Thoughts of staring at him during meals and events rushed through my mind. Vidcon, PINOF, and Playlist live. "Yeah, but we can't do it again until we're home, somebody might see it." Phil looked down and fidgeted with the soles of his shiny shoes. "Are you embarrassed of me?" I said incredibly fast, hoping it wasn't true. I started to panic and my heart sped up. "No Dan, calm down, your heart is beating really fast." Phil flashed a smile, "No, I just don't want anyone to give you a hard time." He looked so beautiful. "Oh, okay." I told him. Phil is so amazing.
