meet Jo, the Phantom Pulse drummer

Jo spends most of her time hitting drums with everything she has and she still is a ball of unstoppable energy. Dying was the greatest adrenaline rush she ever experienced, and flirting with it over and over again in their cleansings makes life that much brighter. Jo was surrounded by a big family growing up and, while she loves her band family, she someday wants a family of her own.

But before that, she’s going to enjoy her twenties, and the wacky life she leads, because this whole ghost hunting schtick is the same as doing drugs or partying a lot–something you do when you’re young, but not a life. 

Jo will be played by Erin Caesar

meet REN, the Phantom Pulse frontman

The band’s fearless leader, in both the ghost hunting and the music. Ren helped out his mom and took care of his siblings from a young age, and he’s continued that with the band, appointing himself as their caretaker and protector. He’s continually crushed under the anxiety of not being good enough, not being worthy of love, so he makes himself as useful as possible in the hopes people will keep him around and covers up the insecurity in classic frontman bravado.

He wants to make the band successful on their own merits–not just as ghost busting musicians for low level hauntings–so that he can play with his friends for the rest of his life. 

Ren will be played by Nicholas Podany

meet Cal, the Phantom bassist

Cal was the nerd in high school who everyone was shocked to learn was in a rock band when they weren’t busy being top of their class. They’ve dedicated themselves to learning everything they can about the spirit world–they say it’s about becoming better at the ghost-busting part of their job, but really it’s to soothe a long held fear that life will always end in a horrible death and torturous afterlife.  Knowledge is one way to cope and mischief is the other–Cal is always looking to lighten the mood, to run away from their fears.

Cal will be played by Erika Ishii!

meet Bremmer, the Phantom guitarist

Bremmer is exactly what you’d expect for the lead guitarist of a 90s rock band–quiet, moody, grungy, and tattooed. This too-cool-for-you, tough exterior is covering up the truth: that, deep down, he isn’t the tortured, brooding artist he appears to be. He’s silent and stoic because he doesn’t want to rock the boat.

Always trying–and failing–to gain approval from his parents, Bremmer has learned that keeping your emotions to yourself is the only way to get through life, even if it ultimately kills you. And it isn’t just emotions–Bremmer is keeping a secret that would change everything about how the band views their own history.

Bremmer will be played by Briggon Snow

meet Ash, the Phantom keyboardist

The dreamy and mysterious newest addition, with a voice powerful enough to shake your bones. As much as Ash immediately clicked with the group (well, with most of them), the other members of Phantom Pulse don’t actually know all that much about her or her past. Ash is deeply empathetic, with a jovial streak that makes her immediately lovable to everyone she meets.

Ash will be played by Juliana Gutiérrez Arango!

Erika is our Cal!

Erika Ishii (all pronouns) is known for their voiceover work including Dragon Age: The Veilguard’s main character “Rook”, “Valkyrie” in Apex Legends, and the titular lead in Ghost of Yōtei. An early pioneer in the actual play space, Erika has performed in tabletop games with Dimension 20, Critical Role, The Adventure Zone and co-created record-breaking narrative play podcast Worlds Beyond Number.

Having originated the “side quest” season of Dimension 20, they are now known for the chaos they bring to comedy streaming platform Dropout (formerly CollegeHumor) before joining as a recurring cast member on Game Changer, Make Some Noise, Um Actually, and more. Erika has performed as a special guest in the Off-Broadway theater production Dungeons & Dragons:Twenty Sided Tavern and hosted red carpets and livestreams for studios including Marvel, PlayStation, and Pokémon. Erika openly identifies as queer and genderfluid and is an outspoken proponent for social justice, LGBTQ+ rights, and mental health for underserved communities

Nicholas is our Ren!

Nicholas Podany is an actor and musician known for his roles in film, television, audio drama, and on Broadway. He starred in Audible's Hit Singles and composed the music for the new fiction podcast The Harbingers. His screen credits include Saturday Night, Hello Tomorrow, and the upcoming Ponies.
